Historia
Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distills 3,000 years of the history of power into 48 well-explicated laws. This bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun-tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other great thinkers.

Revisado: 11-17-23
this book is so increadibly dumb in everything it claims, that I have hard time understanding why anyone takes any of the presented rules seriously. and the historical examples are idiotic. One can always pretend to read into minds of historical characters, attributing thoughts and justifications they may or may not have had. the only result following the rules in this book guarantees is that it will lead to misery of anyone who followed it.

Historia
As passionate as it is profound, Atlas Shrugged is one of the most influential novels of our time. In it, Rand dramatizes the main tenets of objectivism, her philosophy of rational selfishness. She explores the ramifications of her radical thinking in a world that penalizes human intelligence and integrity.

Very acurrate description of what is happening now
Revisado: 05-26-23
While it is truly a Capitalist Manifesto, this book of 1950s makes predictions that are very true in today's USA and the West. With the Wokes takeover of government, and replacement of merit by "empathy", what happens in this book is exactly what happens in society today. This is a better reference than Orwells' 1984 which is often referred to.

What a boring, stupid sf
Revisado: 05-26-23
So disappointed with this book. Copycat all old, used-up ideas and mashup everything into a thriller-like soup. It is written with a low-quality Hollywood film in mind. NOT-A-SCIFI book, full of mistakes on the high school level. Like the explanation of quantum physics in book 3 -- omg, really? Prescott, read at least a Wikipedia page on quantum theory before writing this!

Unconvincing, but worth the reading
Revisado: 02-15-23
The arguments the author brings are unconvincing, because the problem with string theory: unverifiability and nepotism, are not sufficiently addressed. The fact that it is a beautiful theory of nothing phiscal and that it helped math or some calculations is not sufficient nt justification for blocking two generations of physicists from pursuing anything else. Wasted money, wasted talents. All due to big minds overconfidence.

Historia
Stories About Stuff is a collection of 12 fables I had been telling my sons when they were growing up. The Stories About Stuff series is unique since it tells stories about objects of everyday use (a fork, a pen, a kettle, a candle) or object of nature (a stone, a leaf). Also, unlike most stories for kids, Stories About Stuff take on serious topics: evanescence, alienation, disaffection, estrangement; and make them accessible, educational, and engaging.

Loved it. it is a story about a cycle of life, with the main hero being an oak leaf. it is short so it works well as a bedrime story.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

A standup comedy of scifi
Revisado: 06-26-17
This book has extremely predictable story, it is full of cliches, it is terrible non-scientific...yet, it's very funny at times. Despite being quite annoyed at it's low quality, I think I will keep reading the series just for it's military edgy humor.
