Just OK
Revisado: 09-25-23
Like all the rest the narrator is a huge problem but the main issue is the boring story. The title of the book is Cari Mora but she hardly seems present in the book. This was an ok way to spend 6hrs if you borrow it from the library. Don’t waste a credit

Very Dated but Patton makes awesome

The story very dated but so is the novel. As long as you ignore the race stuff and women a place is in the home it’s a fun listen

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Great Narration and plot but the math was tedious

This was up to Martian standards. I like the ending. My only issue was the tedious math calculations. Porter was awesome as always

Historia
Told from four-year-old Laura's point of view, this story begins in 1871 in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Laura lives in the little house with her pa, her ma, her sisters Mary and Carrie, and their trusty dog, Jack. Pioneer life is sometimes hard for the family, since they must grow or catch all their own food as they get ready for the cold winter. But it is also exciting as Laura and her family celebrate Christmas with homemade toys and treats, do the spring planting, bring in the harvest, and make their first trip into town.

Terrific Narration but staticky
Revisado: 06-07-18
I didn’t notice the dropped words and sentences as others but in several crucial moments the audio had so much static I thought my phone was shot.
Even with those issues it’s well worth the credit

Horrible Narration Believe the Reviews
Revisado: 05-21-18
Not only is he Narration terrible the ending of the book is wrong. Unsteady if he end of Cat and mouse you get the end of Pop Goes the Weasel. Lucky for me I knew this so understood why all of the sudden Christine was kidnapped in Bermuda for no good reason and out of the blue. I want my money back.

A resident of one of LA's toughest neighborhoods uses his blistering intellect to solve the crimes the LAPD ignores. East Long Beach. Historia
Atlanta, 1974: It's Kate Murphy's first day on the job, and the Atlanta Police Department is seething after the murder of an officer. Before the day has barely begun, she already suspects she's not cut out to be a cop. Her male uniform is too big, she can't handle a gun, and she's rapidly learning that the APD is hardly a place that welcomes women. Worse still, in the ensuing manhunt she'll be partnered with Maggie Lawson, a cop with her own ax to grind.

Unlistenable Narrator
Revisado: 02-21-17
I guess it's not fair to grade the book. It could be terrific but I'm 30 minutes in and can't listen anymore. The narrator over-enunciates and pauses for 1/2-1.0 second between each word. I dare you to read this sentence that way without wanting to pull your hair out.
I do not understand how anyone would think this narration is acceptable

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

LMAO this is the silliest conservative propaganda piece I've read in a while. It's super entertaining if you don't mind the emotional manipulation of dying dogs and children while being hit over the head by pro military propaganda. It's waaaay better than Red Dawn. Loved it
