Not that interesting

We’ve all read stories about someone moved to another country and the funny issues ensue. However, this one just isn’t that funny and the stories not that interesting. It’s like the filler episode in a series- not much goes on. its not horrible, but I have read better ones.

Meh.. just not much of a story. The performance was good tho, too bad the story is so lame. Movies on a certain channel (same name as a card company)have a better story.

So very slow

It’s written like the author had to write so many pages and just drew the story out longer than possible. So much rambling and repeating over and over. Then it finally gets all tidied up in the last 30 min. I kept having to hit forward. Plus sometimes the reader has very odd pronunciations- anti-acids.

Couldn’t finish

I have read and listened to every and all Jana Deleon books and loved them all… except this one. She seems to be having trouble with menopause because that is all this story is about, over and over and over. I’ll read almost anything but I couldn’t finish this one. Just nothing interesting and lots of complaining.

Couldn’t stop listening

Great story in Maine, Milan, Bangkok and more. Very well written with one great narrator and one mediocre. It’s not enough to kill the story but is rather annoying- she..is..very..precise in her reading. But the story is great and I’m ready to buy the second in the series, moments after finishing the first one. Strong women and retired characters!

Novel set after WW1. Well written concerning the class struggles after the war where women had worked and still needed jobs after and the upper classes had to struggle with the social changes affecting their previously privileged lifestyle. Think Downton Abbey in novel and you will enjoy it.

Repetitive

I always finish a book and this time I couldn't. It's the same thing over and over - they love each but can't be together because of the Fates...and repeat. That's it! Very little plot and frankly after several hours and skipping ahead I finally quit.

For Young readers

This is for young, teen readers. The 2 main characters are completely self involved and unaware of others. They focus only on themselves, their wants, needs, and how the world solely affects them. The high pitched squealing is reflective of their immaturity- all of this is the point of the story. Without giving too much away, they do grow, a little bit.
I made it through, but just barely. This was just not what I was expecting.

I loved this one! Interesting story with lots of twists and a haunted house. Narrator is wonderful! So glad they keep her.

I really wanted to like this but the main character was so pathetic it was hard to relate. And it goes on and poof just ends. The part about West U was accurate
