Historia
In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platforms that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, the CBS network re-aired a program about the effects of propranolol on sufferers of extreme trauma. A simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity’s broad history, mankind discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall. And the ability to forget it ever happened.

Historia
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Good Book!
Revisado: 11-21-24
The story was good. The beginning had me wanting them to get on with it. The sister dialogue seemed extended to me but could just be me. Once the story really began it had me guessing what was going on. I enjoyed the story. The time traveling back and forth through me off here and there without looking at the chapter titles. I got used to it.
One criticism I did have was the voice actors voicing Nora almost valley girl twang at the end of her statements. I have a book out and for some reason voice actors seem to do this. I had to tell my VA to make sure to not turn the character into a valley girl. So it annoyed me. The other thing was Hannah the interviewers voicing was performed like a seductive voice. It through me off to hear this. If a character would not talk like that in real life, they wouldn’t in the page. Most of the time it was fine, but there were times I couldn’t tell if she was interviewing or trying to seduce someone. Voices can take you out of the story.
All and all the story was good! A solid 4.

Rosie and Chad Lowan are barely making ends meet in New York City when they receive life-changing news: Chad’s late uncle has left them his luxury apartment at the historic Windermere in glamorous Murray Hill. With its prewar elegance and impeccably uniformed doorman, the building is the epitome of old New York charm. One would almost never suspect the dark history lurking behind its perfectly maintained facade.

Excellent Story That Kept My Interest
Revisado: 09-01-24
I really enjoyed this story. I’ll give no spoilers. I just want to say that it kept me engaged the whole time and although the main character new the truth in her gut, she still made you wonder where it was going and if her suspicions were right. The characters were fully developed and interesting. I loved the story to the very end.
I will say that when she got to a few ‘romantic’ scenes in the book. It was cringy to me. Like it took a 180 and became a romance harlequin novel, it was corny to me in the reading. But I just waited for those parts to pass and they did quickly. Could be me, or the reading that just made the sex scenes seem contrived. I never like books like that though so you may love that! :)
Beyond those, probably three instances, the story was amazing. I highly recommend it.

Love The Concept of Living a Life In Your Dream
Revisado: 07-23-24
The concept was fresh and intriguing. I enjoyed the thoughts, dialogue and characters. The story was very much characters based but toward the end I wanted a more clear cut story of what Penny wanted me to know. It went on as a series of activities of characters where little lessons could be learned. It was very sweet although I did find at the end, with no clear cut direction I was being led in, I had a hard time staying interested. It finished and I thought it was a clever idea, even inspiring, then it kind of fizzled out for me. Although I still think it is a worthy read. Many reviews show people love it or they’re in the middle with it! I’m more in the middle while still giving it a good review.

Historia
In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film’s scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase. Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot.

Clever, Twisty, Naughty, In a Mansion They Shouldn’t Be In
Revisado: 02-19-24
I never trusted any character and yet I was invested. I knew not to like them too much but still cared about what happened to them. There was a clear good character but all others I never knew for sure until the very end that had a twist! No spoilers but I really liked the story. The house description made me see it and I was able to navigate through it with the characters. I recommend it!

Historia
Felix Allsey is a travel writer with a keen eye for the paranormal, and he's carved out a unique, if only slightly lucrative, niche for himself in nonfiction; he writes travelogues of the country's most haunted places, after haunting them himself. When he convinces the owner of the infamous Rotterdam Mansion to let him stay on the premises for two weeks, he believes he's finally found the location that will bring him a best seller. Then things start going wrong: screams from upstairs, figures in the thresholds, and more than what should be in any basement.
