Fun, Informative, and easy
Revisado: 05-13-20
I was given a copy from this book by the author Mr. Alex in exchange for an honest review.
Alex talks about the lessons he learned in his life with real examples from his own experiences, it was a fun and easy ride, and I have to say that I found the audio version very good to listen.
There are no surprises in this book, those are well-known life lessons that most of us come to learn them as we grow up, however, what I really liked about this book is the targeted sample which was for young teens who probably roll their eyes when you try to advise them or tell them how hard you had to pay in order to learn about life yourself. Coming from a guy close to their age with real examples and the easy language they are more likely to listen and appreciate those crucial lessons.
the only thing that bothered me was some curse words that were in the book and in the title, other than that I hope whoever reads this book enjoys it as I did and learn from it.

Fun and Enjoyable
Revisado: 04-30-20
Lia is the new hire in a community theater and she is determined to succeed in her mission of getting the theater to a thriving stage, somehow this comes to happen but not in the way she expected or wanted. So now Lia has to keep the shows going on while keeping an eye on mysterious threats.
Honestly, the mystery genre isn't my thing, however, I find myself dabbling in cozy mysteries from time to time, and I have to say I enjoyed this book thoroughly, not only because of the good plot (I couldn't predict the ending, which made it all more fun for me) but also because of the interesting set of characters,
I'm really looking forward to listening to the second book.

Historia
Everyone’s heard of Nostradamus. No one’s heard of Philibert Montmorency. One was a legend. The other, not so much.... A newly discovered Nostradamus prophecy has taken the internet by storm thanks to "The Oblivion Doctrine", a group of online conspiracy theorists. Apparently the end is nigh. And in case anyone’s interested, nigh is definitely a Tuesday. Doctor Ally Oldfield, professor of Medieval Languages, is summoned to Lyon for a second opinion. She’s not happy about it. But then again she’s rarely happy about anything.

Historia
Professional heroes kill and loot deadly monsters every day, but Gorm Ingerson's latest quest will be anything but business as usual. The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. That's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

Historia
Born with the power to control minds, hypnotize others, and read thoughts, Ren Lewis is certain of one thing: God made a mistake. No one should be born with so much power. A monster awoke in him the same year he received his gifts. At 10 years old. A prepubescent boy with the ability to control others might merely abuse his powers, but Ren allowed it to corrupt him. And since he can have and do anything he wants, Ren should be happy.

quite good
Revisado: 02-03-16
If you could sum up Ren in three words, what would they be?
interesting ,
If you’ve listened to books by Sarah Noffke before, how does this one compare?
I listened to "The Lucidites " and I have to say , I liked this one much better , less teenager emotional drama , and more interesting
basically the main character here was much more deep and developed than the main character in the lucidites , which quite frankly I don't even remember her name
Which character – as performed by Tim Campbell – was your favorite?
Jane was fantastic she was so much fun and I think I enjoyed the parts where they fought a lot
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
not particularly , if I had to chose I would say the moment he rescued the twin , it was his breaking point , when he decided he could no longer take it with doing harm to others
I liked that moment

i dont belive a word
Revisado: 01-07-16
What disappointed you about How to Contact Space People?
while the writer tried his best to state the facts he believed in ,i couldn't help but to wonder about the HUGE gapes of reasons , like :
1-how can the space people be very advanced in technology ,yet soooo afraid of our simple technology
2-those space people have a lot of free time , dont they have better things to do rather than listening to one man ask them to do ?
3-all they did was going around in their spaceship to be seen , and "made natural disasters " cant they just land and say HI ?? or at least do something useful , like helping around ? since they are kind of good as the writer said .
there are other points but those are just examples
Would you ever listen to anything by Ted Owens again?
i dont think so
What about Jack Chekijian’s performance did you like?
he delivered the book in a very calm and reasonable way which made the book sounds better and helped me to complete it
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
mostly curiosity , i wondered about a lot of things but mostly his mental state (no offense to the writer) but i think i detected three different types of delusion .
and the fact that he worked as "hypnotic" could reflect some suggestibility on his part
Any additional comments?
i hope i didn't offend anyone with this review

Historia
We remember the admonition of our mothers: "Treat others as you want them to treat you." But what if being nice was something we were inclined by nature to do anyway? Renowned neuroscientist Donald Pfaff upends our entire understanding of ethics and social contracts with an intriguing proposition: the Golden Rule is hardwired into the human brain. Pfaff, the researcher who first discovered the connections between specific brain circuits and certain behaviors, contends that the basic ethics governing our everyday lives can be traced directly to brain circuitry.

simple and complicated at the same time
Revisado: 11-22-15
If you could sum up The Neuroscience of Fair Play in three words, what would they be?
scientific understandable thorough
What did you like best about this story?
the book was based on a lot of scientific studies to justify any point it presented , yet at the same time it offered a simple explanation for non professional readers
What does Jack Chekijian bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
jack's voice gave the book a life on it's own ,the discussion were held in easy ,slow voice that helped me to stay focused on the information
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
all of the book really
Any additional comments?
this book will help to change the reader's frame of mind looking at phenomena like violence, cruelty , i feel that the point of the book was that it's never one factor for one behavior or another it is the sum of them , which we should take into consideration when judging

yes i would
If you’ve listened to books by Dr. M.K. Jessup before, how does this one compare?
i nerver tried one before , but i have to say i like his organized method
Which scene was your favorite?
i liked the cases he mentioned in the book , there were very interesting
Do you think The Case for the UFO needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
i think yes , apparently the author thought that this book was for beginner in this area , so maybe more professional book
Any additional comments?
in this area im considered a below beginner , yet the way the book is distributed is very scientific and orderly , which made it more easy to understand and without losing interest in it .
the performance was amazing too

When a blond stranger sits at the diner counter and calls her by name, that balance is gone.

quit intresting
Revisado: 08-28-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
i feel there were two problems in this book for me :
1- too much self dialog , and self appreciation
2- an instant, lacking ,and sometime boring love
so i would probably change the two things above
Would you be willing to try another book from Terry Maggert? Why or why not?
i would say sure , his writing is pretty good , i really liked his idea of a modern world with paranormal aspects , and the events which really kept me hooked until the end
What about Erin Spencer’s performance did you like?
Erin Spencer's voice gave the character it's personality , i really could see what type of person she is , her voice gave the events the emotional dimension in the story
Could you see Halfway Dead being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
i think i will be more enthusiastic if it turned to a cartoon series or maybe an anime
Any additional comments?
my thanks to Terry Maggert for giving me a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review
thanks Terry , it was an excellent read for me
