Hard to stick with it but worth it in the end

The story was so depressing for most of the book. Terrible heartbreak. But incredible imagery and adventure. It really speaks to the beauty of humanity and the power of resilience and tenacity.

The narration of this story was outstanding!!

This book was awesome from start to finish. There were so many characters to keep track of and somehow she was able to seamlessly do this and the narration of the characters which could’ve easily ruined. It did so much more to bring life to each one of them it was an outstanding book.

What an excellent body of work. Dr Perry’s scientifically backed research, humbleness, and the calmness of his delivery is an excellent pairing with Oprah’s familiar, warm, storytelling. The epilogue had me in tears! This is an excellent read for anyone looking to understand the “why” behind human behavior and the sequence in which our brain develops. Using this knowledge, both Dr Perry and Oprah invite you to dig into your past through intimate storytelling of their own. This was delivered in a similar fashion to Brene Brown: addressing difficult topics using scientifically backed research with tenderness, warmth and kindness!
