Imagine MHI and MCB with a whole lot of DEI
Revisado: 01-30-24
I have loved the multitude of monster hunter books, I’ve listened to them all. This one was a step away from the typical quality. It is clearly the typical decline into “diversity” and “inclusion”. I’m surprised there wasn’t a lesbian, tbh. That being said, it could have been much worse and was still fairly enjoyable. It’s just not what one would expect from the MH series.

Daddy issues
Revisado: 08-02-23
The author clearly has insufficiently advanced daddy issues. The hate for a father figure, the pathetic soft male characters, the way nearly everyone is some kind of sexual deviant. I had hoped that perhaps this would get better in the series, it has only gotten worse. It’s an embarrassment of a series. Get some psychiatric help, author. Nick narrated well, as always, so there’s that.

Historia
The Yellowstone super-eruption has put an end to modern civilization. As cities and countries continue to fall, the colony of Rivendell in the alternate Earth known as Outland looks more and more like the only real hope for humanity. But life in Rivendell isn’t getting any simpler, either. Bill and Kevin continue to discover new worlds; the population continues to rise; winter is approaching; and everyone has their own opinion about how things should be run.

Drowning despite the life raft that is Ray Porter
Revisado: 02-27-23
Disappointing lack of substance, further diminished by pathetic political nonsense. Quit trying to be an indoctrinated college turd, Dennis.

Historia
Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Somewhat of a let-down
Revisado: 06-30-22
First off, I have loved every other MJS book in this universe. This book really left me feeling unfulfilled. It was as if the build up just fizzled away at the end, as if the author could not come to a decision as to how to finish it. The tragedy of the Empire books was so much more complete. Hopefully the next, which I definitely will listen to, isn’t like letting the air squeak out of a balloon after blowing it up for hours.
As always, TGR’s performance was exemplary!

Historia
The chaotic confines of the hospital kept Creed occupied, even as he felt something change within. The embattled physician's dreams were more frequent, and oddities were becoming the norm in an otherwise pedestrian existence. Following a tumultuous turn of events, Creed awakens in another world, one which he slowly remembers to be his home, as the past and present collide.

A great listen for fantasy lovers!!
Revisado: 06-11-20
As a heavy audiobooker (266 books over the past few years), I must say that C. S. Colvin’s creation is one of my favorites! Riveting fantasy tale aside, I was intrigued by the perspective and internal monologue of a distressed frontline healthcare provider! Take I for a spin, you won’t regret it.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.
