Historia
Mason "Mace" Perry was a firebrand cop on the D.C. police force until she was kidnapped and framed for a crime. She lost everything-her badge, her career, her freedom-and spent two years in prison. Now she's back on the outside and focused on one mission: to be a cop once more. Her only shot to be a true blue again is to solve a major case on her own, and prove she has the right to wear the uniform.

Interesting story but challenging to follow.
Revisado: 06-19-23
This was a complex and interesting storyline. However, the complexity made it challenging to follow in audio because the narrator read the story with no change in voice for the different characters. It wasn't always clear who was talking.
I would have liked to see more character development around Mace with how and why she could get emotionally involved with Roy in such a short time. I'm a Baldacci fan. This was good, but not my favorite.

Kept me interested throughout. I love when I am completely surprised and this one kept me guessing to the very end. The performance was brilliant and had me laughing but also brought me to tears. Excellent!!!

Historia
Amos Decker witnesses a murder just outside FBI headquarters. A man shoots a woman execution style on a crowded sidewalk, then turns the gun on himself. Even with Decker's extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killing is baffling. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter - a family man with a successful consulting business - and his victim, a schoolteacher.

It did keep my interest but many parts about Rene were very unrealistic. I didnt care for the voices... the one sounded Spanish instead of Bosnian and the female sounded too young... though both read very well. Good twist at the end.
