Historia
Serving as a powerful follow-up to Jordan Peterson’s book 12 Rules for Life, Dr. Gad Saad unpacks what is really happening in progressive safe zones, why we need to be paying more attention to these trends, and what we must do to stop the spread of dangerous thinking. A professor at Concordia University who has witnessed this troubling epidemic firsthand, Dr. Saad dissects a multitude of these concerning forces (corrupt thought patterns, belief systems, attitudes, etc.) that have given rise to a stifling political correctness in our society.

Essential reading for rational minds!
Revisado: 08-25-24
Prof Saad provides a clear eyed unvarnished look at the history and underpinnings of the “woke” movement, why and how islamic religious fundamentals are incompatible with all democratic nations and cultures. His language and descriptions, metaphors and analogies are acerbic and humorous. I highly recommend this book for everyone who is becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the direction of America as well as many other countries such as Great Britain and Venezuela. I especially recommend this book for any parent that is about to send their precious child off to college. Please read this book and be prepared for what your child will encounter when he/she gets there.

Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Your inner child will adore this book
Revisado: 07-17-23
Best audio book I have ever listened to, read by the author, Neil Gailan. This was my intro to this amazing author, I don’t know how I didn’t know about him before. Am going to listen to the Neil Gaiman reader next, as he suggested when asked in the bonus interview podcast. His creativity and imagination is vast AND diverse, so the reader will help me figure out which direction to go in his collection.

Magnificent story, excellent narration!
Revisado: 06-21-23
Read this thr first time when I was even younger than the protagonist. Listened to Audible version now as a senior and was struck by the vicissitudes of youth and the regrets of the mature mind. For some reason Moreau’s over indulgent self regard and sensitivities went over my head as a inexperienced teen. But I found his character to be annoying at best as I reheard this tale decades later. The superb narration brought this novel to superior levels of enjoyment, much like hearing a play. I will be lookjng for more of the narrator’s work in future!

Fascinating and well researched insight
Revisado: 02-02-23
Mr Low provides extensive historical baclground and context for how the senior aides, advisors, and staff to the monarch and senior royals have operated for the last century. I read this book to better understand the selection and duties of the palace’s most senior staff in the conduct and outward presentation of a thousand year old institution. I was also keen to gain insight about the latest generation of senior royals including Princes William and Harry and their spouses. Mr Low’s information about Harry’s dissatisfaction with being a working royal even BEFORE meeting his wife. So while many blame her for so-called Megxit, she may have just been a useful conduit to get out.

Beautifully written and narrated
Revisado: 04-01-21
In anticipation of the coming series on the black church, I listened to the book on Audible. The depth and breadth of the research, so well woven together with interesting personal stories and recollections of the author and others, was stunning. The narrator’s voice was superb and while I had no particular expectations of this rendering beforehand, I was very reluctant when the Epilogue ended. I must say this is one of the best books I have read/heard in a very long time. I look forward to watching the documentary series.

Spirtuality from science
Revisado: 04-22-20
I ran this audio reading at .7 and .8 speed so that I could digest Dr Lipton at the rate of absorption in my brain. (if you are unfamiliar, the speed function can slow or speed up the reading WITHOUT changing the voice pitch). His books always start from scientific knowledge and you won't finish if you are impatient. Stick with him, he's awesome and amazing in bringing interesting and well grounded psychological concepts into focus built upon the history and philosophy of scientific principles and discoveries.
