Historia
Trina Warren didn’t think she was going to be a hero. She thought she was going to go to fourth period, hopefully avoiding any more hassle from the jocks about dropping their plates at her waitressing job the night before. Then there was a bang, and an overturned chair, and everything was different. Now Trina finds herself in a fantasy world, pursued by a faceless, nameless monster that only she can stop.

I didn’t think it could get better.

I discovered AJ Hartley years ago when I walked into a shop in Encinitas and my daughter bought one of his books. On a trip I needed something to read so I borrowed her book. I haven’t stopped reading or being impressed by his work since. Impervious continues that pattern. I read this book and it hit me so hard. I had never had such an emotional reaction to a book. I couldn’t wait for the audio book. Listening to the performance made it like hearing the story for the first time. Once again I find myself amazed at how a book can leave me so entertained and emotional. This book says something. It’s a story that is needed to bring an emotional and personal side to a story that is often told in broad tragic headlines. It humanizes people that too often left as statistics.
