Paranormal reads are some of my favorites, although I will admit that shifters can be a bit of a hit or miss for me. Leave it to author Bella Jacobs to write a shifter romance that hits all the marks, and leaves me wanting more.

WOLF KING, the first book in the Wolves of New York series, is chock-full of intrigue, suspense, and some super-steamy alpha style romance, and I was not disappointed. Maxim Thorn's and Willow Astor's initial oil and water differences quickly morph into one hecka hot 'who's the alpha now' back and forth, and it was all the witty, sexy goodness that I've come to know and expect from Bella.

Now, full disclaimer, this is the first book of three in a series, so, yes, it is a little bit cliffy. Do not, however, let that discourage you, because, if you're a fan of the PNR and shifter worlds, you're not going to want to wait, so I encourage you to dive right in. Books 2 and 3 will be here before you know it, and in the meantime you get to fall in love with Maxim, Willow, and their world right away.

Also, can we just talk about the freaking sexy as sin narration of this book? Lili Valente and Jason Clarke have perfectly captured Willow and Maxim, and listening to the audio of this book is a serious treat for the ears. Talk about aural pleasure, this audio will hit you in all the right places, and is not to be missed.. So go on, take a walk on the wolf side. You will not be sorry! ❤️

The thing about having a plan is that it's really, really important to be flexible. Why? Because even the best laid plans are bound to go a little bit sideways with no warning. Case in point, Trudy Potter. She has a plan, one that involves selling off a most precious part of herself in order to take care of her sister. And it's a good plan, until that sideways thing. Enter Sterling. He also has a plan, and Trudy's plan plays right into his. Except that I have a feeling that his plan is going to need some adjusting, too. Like I said, flexibility...

All of this to say that SOLD TO STERLING, the first book in a trilogy by author Everly Stone, is the beginning of what promises to be one heck of a ride, for Trudy, for Sterling, and for us readers. Sexy, unpredictable, and with plenty of anticipated twists, turns, and those sideways plans, Trudy's and Sterling's story has me hooked.

People say that cliffhangers aren't their thing, but I say bring them on, because they just add to the anticipation. With two more installments to go, I'm more than ready for all the things that Everly's got up her sleeve. As a note, narrators Lili Valente and C.J. Mission bring it to life in the very best way, and I can't wait to hear how they carry the story through. Don't miss this one, you will love it. ❤️

"If you want people to change, you have to show them what it looks like."

What makes for a 6-star listen? Different things for different people, I expect. I'll admit that my bar is pretty high, so those 6 stars are few and far between, which makes them that much more special. THE SONG BOOK OF BENNY LAMENT by author Amy Harmon (my first book by her, incidentally, although it will most certainly not be my last) is my first 6 stars in a very long time, and it is a well-deserved rating.

Books that address race can be tricky, especially if an author isn't writing with first-hand experience. The fact that Amy has written such a beautiful and moving book about a woman of color in the 1960s says an awful lot about her. The time and research that she put into Esther's and Benny's story really show, and her eloquent and poignant storytelling make THE SONGBOOK OF BENNY LAMENT a book that will stay with me for a very long time.

This is a long listen, but I will tell you that, once I started, I could not stop. And, while there is definitely a romance here, there is a bigger story here. Family, commitment, standing up for change, being the change, all of these are central to this story, and it is written and presented beautifully and flawlessly. Narrator Rob Shapiro does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, and making Benny's and Esther's story even more poignant.

While Esther's and Benny's story takes place decades ago, now is the perfect time for Amy to have gifted us with this book. The theme of change is an integral part of the story, and, honestly, the need for change continues to be just as important today. As Esther's brother Alvin says, "Change is the answer...I knew there was one." I couldn't have said it better myself. ❤️

From start to finish, THE VIRGIN RULE BOOK is Lauren Blakely perfection, and I just really loved everything about it. From the banter, the slow burn to full-on conflagration, the respect and like that Nadia and Crosby have for each other that makes for the perfect segue into desire, this is a book that I will both remember and recommend, and I enjoyed every delectable moment.

I really like that Nadia is a strong savvy woman that knows what she wants...and what she doesn't. Lauren writes women that are well aware of what they bring to the table, and own it all the way, and this is what makes her books some of my absolute favorites. And Crosby, well, I fell in love with him right off the proverbial bat (see what I did there?). Underneath all the testosterone and swagger is another one of Lauren's men that is the epitome of swoon-worthy, and he is just wonderful.

I have found with audiobooks, even with a great story, that the narration can either make or break the experience. Lauren has a knack for casting the perfect talent to voice her characters, and Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are magic together here. They bring Nadia and Crosby to life in the best way, and made listening to an already great story next level.

THE VIRGIN RULE BOOK is five stars worth of listening pleasure that has me anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. A definitely recommends from this happy listener.

IGNORE YOUR CUSTOMERS (AND THEY'LL GO AWAY) is well written, fun to listen to (even though it’s a business book), and totally real-life/actionable throughout. It is really “the” book if you’re looking to transform your company’s customer service and customer experience.

All the examples come straight from the author’s work (Micah Solomon is a customer service consultant who goes onsite with companies to help them turn around and polish up their customer service), and he’s shared a lot of his secrets here in an organized and practical format, with “Cliffs Notes” type summaries at the end of each chapter and a separate Reading Group Guide at the end of every chapter as well.

As an added bonus, Micah extends an invitation to listeners to reach out to him (by email, with his address provided) if you have any specific questions not answered by the text. That kind of attitude is pretty rare in this day and age, and is a great example of why he is the go-to for all things customer service related.

You'd think that a book on business and customer service might be dry, but the narrators do a great job of presenting the material, which is itself immensely approachable. If you're looking to up your customer service game, I highly recommend this book.

I adore Lili Valente and all of her books, and the Bangover series has been a true delight. Lili's great at writing characters that are more than meets the eye, and the boys of Lips On Fire are no exception. Take Cutter Comstock, for instance. He's living the rockstar life, with his dirty mouth, his devil may care approach to love, and his fear of all things commitment. But, wait, could there be some romance under that bad boy exterior? Yep, and who'd have thought that this love 'em and leave 'em heartbreaker would want to ever settle down? Enter Theo Devi, Cutter's longtime nemesis. She wants something, and so does he, so why not scratch each other's backs to get it? Oh, when will they ever learn...

I was already way in love with Cutter Comstock when I started this book. He's stood disdainfully by while his bandmates have found true love, but, him, well, he's the holdout. Or is he? When the one that got away suddenly becomes available, Cutter's going to have to prove that he's the keeping kind. And who better to help him out than Theo. She can help give him the image that he needs to win another lady's heart, and, in return, Cutter will help her achieve her dream of owning her own restaurant. What could possibly go wrong?

This story, like the others in the series, had my heart from the get-go. Cutter and Theo are hardly a match made in heaven, at least until they open their eyes and see what they have in each other. Lili's sure to deliver a HEA, and these two surely deserve it. With all the stock Lili sass, sizzle, and snark, BANG ON LOOSELY hit all the marks for me. Jason Clarke and Lili Valente herself did a, um, bang-up job with the narration, making a fun, sexy, and sweet story even better. This and all the other books in the Bangover series are pure entertainment, and must-listens (and reads!), so make room on your TBH (to be heard) and enjoy. ❤️

Lauren Blakely is a no-brainer one-click for me, no matter what. That being said, I absolutely ADORED the audiobook version of INSTANT ATTRACTION, a collection of vignettes in the Always Satisfied series.

Lauren has clearly been blessed by the rom-com gods and goddesses, this we know. Her stories, her words, and her characters are ultra-infused with sass, sexiness, and the knowledge that we all really just want an HEA, and she writes the words, the situations, and the dialogue expertly.

What I love most about audiobooks is finding narrators that bring the characters that I know and love to life. There are some heavy hitters here, and they have done a fantastic job of making favorite characters more dimensional. Of special note here is Vikas Adam, a narrator who is fairly new to me, and who voices several very different characters, and does them all the utmost justice. His rendering of Eddie had me laughing out loud, and this Enzo was just fantastic.

INSTANT ATTRACTION is a welcome addition to the Lauren Blakely audio catalog, and will please romance lovers everywhere. Make it part of your library, and enjoy! ❤️

Okay, y'all. Just yes. Meghan March and her not quite legit or above board alpha men are going to do me in every single time. You may have met Cannon Freeman in Meghan's earlier books, but you haven't seen him like this. And, true to form, we've got a heroine who can more than hold her own in her dealings with the boss man, and mesmerize him while doing so. Drew Carson is a woman on a mission, and she's not stopping until she's got all the answers. If only keeping away from Cannon was as easy...

BLACK SHEEP has all the markings of Meghan's best books, with characters that you'll fall in love with right away, a tautly constructed plot that doesn't let up, and, oh, yeah, plenty of "those" scenes. You know, the ones that make you wish you had a tall cool drink and a fan. But there's more here than just insta-lust, and this is one book that you will keep you hooked until the very end.

And, yes, yes she did. As cliffie writer extraordinaire, Meghan brings this book to a close with a bang, one that'll have you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for more, more, more. But, never fear, WHITE KNIGHT, the sure-to-be-awesome wrap-up in this dirty duet, is ready for your listening pleasure with just one click.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York have worked their usual magic, bringing these characters and their stories to vivid life. They are two of the absolute best, and work together like a dream. I never get tired of their narration, and BLACK SHEEP is no exception. So, prepare yourself, queue up WHITE KNIGHT, and let the magic continue.

I've been a fan of Adriana Locke's Gibson boys since way back in CRANK (Book 1). Hard-working, hard-loving, bad boys gone good, these brothers (well, and their cousin, because who in the world could forget Peck?!) captured my heart. In CRAVE, we finally get Machlan's story, and it is so worth the wait, because Machlan Gibson will win you over in a big way.

As second-chance love stories go, CRAVE knocked my socks off, with Adriana giving Machlan and Hadley a love story not soon forgotten. They share a history that is both heartbreaking and unbreakable, keeping them tethered together no matter how hard each of them tries to move on. These characters drew me in, winning my heart at every turn with their depth and their passion.

Adriana writes small-town romance with heart and heat, and CRAVE is one of her best. An easy 4.5 stars, my bet is that you'll be smiling through your tears and rooting for love to win. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do their usual wonderful job capturing the spirit of the story, and the personalities of the characters. Listening to them bring to life a story that I already loved was extra enjoyable. Suggestion, though...make sure that you have the Kleenex handy before you start listening.
And, if you haven't yet met the rest of the Gibsons, do yourself a favor, and get to know them all. You'll be glad that you did.

Let me begin by saying that I adore any and everything written by Lauren Blakely. But, oh, my gosh, I am in TOTAL LOVE with UNZIPPED. This story stole my heart, from the first chapter to the last, and it has to be one of my favorite LB stories EVER.

Who would think that one mistake would lead to the adventure of a lifetime, and true love with lots of fun along the way? Lauren continues to amaze me with her ability to create stories and characters that charm the ever-loving heck out of me, and make me laugh, swoon, and sizzle, often at the same time. Kyler and Finley may seem like an unlikely couple, but Lauren's magical touch makes it easy to believe that they were meant to be all along. The fact that these two bring out both the sane and zany, the serious and the fun-loving in each other, cemented them as another favorite couple, and made their story one I'll happily revisit again and again.

I love listening to an audiobook, because the narrators, if they're good, make the experience of envisioning the story that much more fulfilling, their interpretation adding to the picture in my mind's eye. Joe Arden an Andi Arndt are the perfect voices of Kyler/Tom and Finley, bringing the characters to life so very wonderfully. Five happy stars for UNZIPPED - I literally could not get enough of this story, and recommend it as a must-listen to fans of rom-com, 80's movies, road trips, and soulmates.
