I love Jack Reacher! But this one just didn't grab me like the previous 7 have. This won't stop me! Just bought number 9 but I would have skipped it ...

Far better than the movie!
Revisado: 06-12-15
I bought this book I think as a deal of the day promo ... But I bought it solely because one guy reviewed it as this - if think you know the movie you don't know the book. The book was mesmerizing! I could not stop listening and I couldn't wait to hear what was around the corner.

I like a good Stone Barrington book
Revisado: 06-27-14
So I have seen that some audio readers don't care for the Stuart Woods' Stone Barrington series. So I thought I should explain why I gave it 5 stars. I like the performance as well from Tony Roberts - he's been doing it for so long that if another narrator it wouldn't do the series justice . I give my star ratings based on the other books in the series. I don't rate it against other mysteries by ... say ... John Grisham or Michael Connolly. It is a simple nice fun series. Nothing too serious but enjoyable. This one brings back many characters all at once - and that's why I liked it.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Historia
Stone Barrington is called to Bel-Air to oversee an exclusive event that will gather the top echelons of the beau monde: Hollywood starlets, socialites, politicos, billionaires from overseas. It’s a task in which Stone has a personal stake, and one that is made all the more pleasurable - though somewhat more complicated - with the arrivals of two beautiful women with whom he’s intimately acquainted. But the grand occasion has also attracted a dangerous criminal group with sinister plans....

I guess writers too have an off day ...
Revisado: 08-31-13
I love everything Stone Barrington. I am a fan of the series and have gotten others to read/listen to the series. But this one was just not as good as the others. Instantly it was predictable and Stone and Dino were barely in the book. It was a book about everyone else in Stone's life but him. He was the sub-character in his own series.
I believe that you could skip this book and go straight to #26 without missing anything!

one of the best audios I have heard in a long time
Revisado: 10-28-12
When Ms. Marshall is reading this book I felt like I was sitting right next to just listening to her speak about her family and her life. Her voice carries all the compassion and love that she has for her family and especially her mother. Her performance is brilliant!

STOP. You should not have touched this flyer with your bare hands. NO, don't put it down. It's too late. They're watching you. My name is David Wong. My best friend is John. Those names are fake. You might want to change yours. You may not want to know about the things you'll read on these pages, about the sauce, about Korrok, about the invasion, and the future. But it's too late. You touched the book. You're in the game. You're under the eye. The only defense is knowledge. You need to read this book, to the end. Even the part with the bratwurst. Why?

Not meant for me ...
Revisado: 07-21-12
Honestly, I just think that this book was written for a whole different age group or genre. I get the horror and the comedy parts. But overall, I just kept getting lost from horror jump to horror jump. Nothing seriously against the book, I bought the book because so many people gave it 4 to 5 stars. So I thought, why not try something different??? Well ... it way different than I like. Some call it a thriller .... um ... I just didn't get that from the writing. Also, some said that they just couldn't put the book down. Well, trust me, I did. I made to the end and still walked off with the thinking of "huh?"
Here's my recommendation to future listeners of this book ... read all the comments. If it's your cup of tea, get it! If not, keep looking.
Nothing against the writer or the listener, it just wasn't for me. And that's cool ...

Ms. Kinsella is Back!!!
Revisado: 03-24-12
The antics and characters that are in this book are pure Sophie Kinsella. The quirkiness and resourcefulness of Poppy is only something that Sophie Kinsella could dream up! If you are a fan of Ms Kinsella's earlier works, like Can You Keep a Secret? and The Undomestic Goddess, then you will love love love this book!
