Very little besides lurid sexual details

The actual story of Bowie’s life takes a distant back seat to the constant graphic details of his sexual escapades, not to mention the actual music, which is an afterthought. This is a shallow, boring, poorly organized, repetitive, and frankly gross book that offers little insight into anything but the warped focus of its author.

The subject matter is obviously very interesting, but the author’s personal opinions come across too strongly, and he insists on referring to silliness like astrology and magic as if it had an actual impact on Page’s life outside of the natural consequences of his interests in it. The narrator is also awful, and his comical mispronunciations are so frequent that it can easily take you out of the story.
