Historia
Throughout the Gulf War of 1991, unprecedented restrictions on the media’s access to the battlefield kept the true story of that brief, brutal conflict from being told. Now, after two years of intensive research, Rick Atkinson has written what will surely come to be recognized as the definitive chronicle of the war.

Totally lived up to expectations
Revisado: 12-05-24
I purchased this book based on my prior reading of the authors books on World War II. This book was excellent. He waves personal stories into a history of the Overall campaign very well. As to negative comments about the narrator, I thought the narration was good, although he needed some assistance with proper names.

Revisado: 08-31-24
The first couple of Novelas were really interesting and the others were kind of entertaining. It was good to hear Dick Hale again.

Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

Great plot
Revisado: 08-19-24
I thought that this was a better plot than some of the recent novels. The narration was great. I disagree with a lot of the negative comments. I did not feel that it was too far away from the genuine Jack Reacher.

Historia
As always, Reacher has no particular place to go, and all the time in the world to get there. One morning he ends up in a town near Pleasantville, Tennessee. But there’s nothing pleasant about the place. In broad daylight Reacher spots a hapless soul walking into an ambush. “It was four against one” . . . so Reacher intervenes, with his own trademark brand of conflict resolution. The man he saves is Rusty Rutherford, an unassuming IT manager, recently fired after a cyberattack locked up the town’s data, records, information . . . and secrets.

Not my favorite Reacher
Revisado: 04-01-24
I have read the entire series in order. Some were better than others and this was near the bottom for me. I am not entirely sure why it did not connect. One thing stood out. This seemed like some of the dumbest adversaries Reacher has ever been up against.

Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Even better than expected.
Revisado: 12-13-23
I typically avoid biographies, especially very long ones. However, this book wove in so many other historical characters, in great depth, that it seemed more like a history of early America than a simple biography.

Historia
It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind. Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there. Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown.

Revisado: 11-21-23
I usually ignore bad reviews of this series but in this case you should at least consider them. I don’t regret using one credit on this book or the time. I was just looking forward to a typical book in the series. Just hoping for more.

Good addition to the series
Revisado: 08-29-23
I have been reading the series in order. I thought this was a very interesting plot. It had some of the typical long, drawn out descriptions of things, such as airplane cabins. But I would definitely put it on the better end of this series.

Maybe not the best, but I enjoyed it. I am glad that I did not skip it based on some of the reviews. The first part was pretty tight. The second half got a little wonky. But still fine.

Historia
A toxic presidential election is underway in an America already badly weakened by internal divisions. While politicians focus entirely on maintaining their own power, ISIS kidnaps a brilliant French microbiologist and forces him to begin manufacturing anthrax. Slickly produced videos chronicling his progress and threatening an imminent attack are posted to the internet, intensifying the hysteria gripping the United States.

Not as good
Revisado: 06-22-22
My personal opinion is that this was not as good as prior Mitch Rapp novels. It is still worth a listen. It just did not have the intricacy and polish that I expected, as if the author were is a rush.

Good
Revisado: 04-25-22
Very consistent with prior books in the series. If you liked the prior books, you will not be disappointed. This series has very little gore or vulgarity which is why my wife and I can listen to them while driving on trips. They are somewhat melodramatic but not bad.
