Historia
With the Dark Angels spread across a hundred systems, primarch Lion El'Jonson stands as Lord Protector of Ultramar - though his true motives are known to few indeed, and old rivalries on the home world threaten to tear the Legion in half. But when word comes of the Night Lords' attack on Sotha, the Lion's brutal actions bring Imperium Secundus once again to the brink of civil war.

Slow burn
Revisado: 10-24-24
So many other books have focused on Calaban in detail and there are many great stories about it - this is not one of them. Lots of dragged out scenes that don’t really add to the plot - was hard to get through.
I’d say skip it.

Historia
Since the near-destruction of the Iron Hands, Raven Guard and Salamanders on Isstvan V, scattered warbands from these 'shattered Legions' have waged a guerrilla war on Horus' forces across the galaxy. Now, the crew of the Sisypheum are drawn into a covert assault on a hidden Alpha Legion outpost - an assault orchestrated by none other than the infamous warleader Shadrak Meduson himself. But what does Meduson really hope to make from such a bold move against the sons of Alpharius, arguably the undisputed masters of deception?

Do not skip!
Revisado: 08-22-24
Gotta love the 20th legion - this is a short but awesome read. The ending is fantastic! Absolutely worth your time. You also get to see a softer side of the 10th legion which is great.

The Qom Jha ruined the audio book
Revisado: 06-29-24
This is a great book - don’t get me wrong BUT holy shit. The “Qom Jha” are bird people that appear in the second half and listening to their bird screeching voices was BRUTAL. Hours of “squawk talking” was so hard to get though and incredibly unnecessary.
I would recommend buying the book and reading it yourself for the plot so you don’t have to deal with listening to the bird nonsense!!!

In the aftermath of the Dropsite Massacre at Isstvan V, a battered and bloodied force of Iron Hands, Raven Guard and Salamanders regroups on a seemingly insignificant death world. Skip the first 3/4 of the book
Revisado: 03-21-24
Man this was tough to get through. NOTHING happens for the first 3/4 of the book. Characters are completely forgettable. This was really hard to get through. Last few chapters are decent but god damn this was brutal.

Bad Stories - The Worst Narrators
Revisado: 11-28-23
Please skip these filler stories. One or two are OK at best. Maybe my least favorite book of the series so far. Definitely my least favorite narration thus far. Do yourself a favor and skip this!

Must Read
Revisado: 04-13-23
I never really cared about the mechanicum until now! This gives a totally bad ass back story full of epic titan battles and rich history of the martians and semi mechanical beings that call Mars home,
Characters were a solid B … but if you want to read a book with great lore, this is it. I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this story arch!

Least favorite book so far
Revisado: 03-16-23
I’m half way through and man this is brutal … lots of filler material that don’t add to the plot in any meaningful way. The book is jumping all over the place. Unless something drastic happens in the second half I would say save your money.
