Historia
In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian-American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food.

Heartbreaking and beautiful
Revisado: 07-17-23
Crying in HMart illustrates the complicated relationships that often reside between mothers and daughters. Zauner punctuates this with food in such a beautiful way.

Historia
The year was 1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks, and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a fun job, lucrative and glamorous - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious and crippling illnesses.

Will stay with me forever
Revisado: 02-18-20
Wow. Moore tells the story of unbelievable heartbreak & justice coming far too late. I am so shaken by this travesty of justice. Moore gave us the gift of the story of the Radium girls & honored them and their families by not allowing them to be forgotten.

Historia
A frank, smart, and captivating memoir by the daughter of Apple founder Steve Jobs. Small Fry is Lisa Brennan-Jobs' poignant story of a childhood spent between two imperfect but extraordinary homes. Scrappy, wise, and funny, young Lisa is an unforgettable guide through her parents' fascinating and disparate worlds. Part portrait of a complex family, part love letter to California in the '70s and '80s, Small Fry is an enthralling audiobook by an insightful new literary voice.

Beautifully Written
Revisado: 10-26-19
This book was so well written and honest. Although I know it was about so much more than being the daughter of Steve Jobs, that part really struck me. It hit me the way The Glass Castle & Educated struck me; stories of overcoming a childhood that was filled with neglect disguised as unconventional parenting. Wow.
