Historia
Judas Coyne is a collector of the macabre. But nothing he possesses is as unlikely or as dreadful as his latest discovery, a thing so terrible-strange, Jude can't help but reach for his wallet. For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost. It's the real thing.

Historia
July 1346. Ten men land on the beaches of Normandy. They call themselves the Essex Dogs: an unruly platoon of archers and men-at-arms led by a battle-scarred captain whose best days are behind him. The fight for the throne of the largest kingdom in Western Europe has begun. Heading ever deeper into enemy territory toward Crécy, this band of brothers knows they are off to fight a battle that will forge nations, and shape the very fabric of human lives. But first they must survive a bloody war in which rules are abandoned and chivalry itself is slaughtered.

So good
Revisado: 08-24-23
Can’t wait until the next installment of this series. Dan jones writes just as good a novel as he does a nonfiction history book.

Historia
The tales of The Silmarillion are set in an age when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle-earth, and the High Elves made war upon him for the recovery of the Silmarils, the jewels containing the pure light of Valinor. Included on the recording are several shorter works. The Ainulindalë is a myth of the Creation and in the Valaquenta the nature and powers of each of the gods is described. The Akallabêth recounts the downfall of the great island kingdom of Númenor at the end of the Second Age, and Of the Rings of Power tells of the great events at the end of the Third Age.

Serkis so good
Revisado: 06-23-23
The Rob Inglis read Silmarillion is classic, but Andy Serkis so good at everything he does, wether it’s character acting, film directing, motion capture, or just reading a story, he adds so many layers to the story and has so much to bring to the table that he makes everything that much better.

Historia
The families behind America’s astronaut heroes are just like yours...sort of. This is the hilarious true story of one of those families. While many children grow up wanting to become an astronaut, Patrick Mullane grew up the child of one. In his memoir, The Father, Son, and Holy Shuttle: Growing Up an Astronaut’s Kid in the Glorious 80s, Mullane shares his hilarious coming-of-age story. It’s a story about his quirky and death-defying father, a mother with a secret, and a cast of characters from his extended family who showed their love for him in often bizarre ways.

His Parents son, that’s for sure.
Revisado: 07-01-22
I’ve listened to Mike Mullane’s book many times. I enjoyed the hell out of Ridding Rockets, and I enjoyed the hell out of this book. The father and son do not write exactly the same way but there styles are vary similar and the two definitely share the family flair for language. As has been said about others, is true also for members of the Mullane family, “they work in profanity the way others work in oils”.

Impressive
Revisado: 05-18-21
I really can’t think of any better or more appropriate word than impressive, damned impressive. I’ve always enjoyed Earl’s music, his interviews as well. I’ve been an Audible customer for several years and have heard my fair share of good and bad audio books. Many of the ones that I have liked the most have had less than all-star reviews. Others that have great reviews I have found, that, the reading just don’t always match the feel or the literary atmosphere for the material. Not the case here. Steve Earl wrote great novel and then narrated it in one of the most engrossing and, well, impressive performances that I can remember. Absolutely awesome.

Must read for TCM fans.
Revisado: 04-17-20
I have been a fan of the film, and it’s sequels for as long as I can remember. So for me, this was a great great book. Hansen’s read was just mono-toned but enthusiastic enough to show that narrating his own writing is not something he does a lot of, but I thought the reading was great.

Historia
With the Soviet Union's launch of the first Sputnik satellite in 1957, the Cold War soared to new heights as Americans feared losing the race into space. The X-15 Rocket Plane tells the enthralling yet little-known story of the hypersonic X-15, the winged rocket ship that met this challenge and opened the way into human-controlled spaceflight. Drawing on interviews with those who were there, Michelle Evans captures the drama and excitement of, yes, rocket science.
