Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

The Otherside… of American Heroes
Revisado: 07-29-22
I’m a huge supporter of our military and the sacrifices they make for our country. We wouldn’t be who we are as a country if it wasn’t for them!
I was disturbed by the show, ‘The Terminal List’ so? decided to listen to the book.
Awesome!
It is very self secure and a bit arrogant… ok.. A tad on the political ‘right’ over all. The ‘left’ looking bleary eyed and incompetent.
It’s challenging to listen to a book when the protagonist is a political party that the author obviously has an issue with.
That’s ok. It is a great book and I’m thankful that my mind is big enough to hear a book that supports the freedom of speech and writing.
I regret that this author goes out of his way to view democracy as only Republican. Very polarizing…. Fuel for uneducated…
Heroes protect their country… NOT polarize it..

Finally!!!
Revisado: 12-05-21
I’ve been waiting for JK’s brilliance to shine through in this series!
The sun shone brilliantly!
By far! The best book in the series. I wasn’t worn down with Strykes stump of a leg and a lagging love line with Robin.
The story line was brilliantly written as if I was in the room with all characters.
There was a few slow parts to the book but they were like soft ambient paint strokes to fill in the colors of a very fantastic detective novel!
Oh!?! I know.. I was brutal in my review of her last book and?!? Yeah it was really badddd!!!
But this one hit it!!

Family is everything to Siobhán: her five siblings; her dear departed mother for whom the family business, Naomi’s Bistro, is named; and now her fiancé, Macdara Flannery. So precious is her engagement that Siobhán wants to keep it just between the two of them for a little longer. But Macdara is her family, which is why when his cousin Jane frantically calls for his help, Siobhán rushes with him from Kilbane to the rural village where Jane and her mother have recently moved. In a cottage, Ellen Delaney lies on her bed in a fancy red dress, no longer breathing.

No Metal Detector Needed! Golden!
Revisado: 10-02-21
Loved it! Probably the best in series! It flowed naturally and I didn’t sense that ‘searching aspect’ often read/listened in a book series.
I still got a ‘jab’ with the American Disney Land but stood above it...
By far her best book in the series.
Yet? There was still that rush in the ending with every typical ‘death solving murder novels’. Wish it didn’t always have an unrealistic happy ending every time.
That’s just not Ireland

It’s Sad
Revisado: 09-23-20
I got the story.
Sometimes? I wish the author views wouldn’t get in the way.
Glad it did.
North Dakota/oil fields is an enigma to most of America.
It’s a rare novel portrayal of life as most don’t know in the 20th century.
I wish more books were written about this era of life.

It’s a Fact! Cameron is the Best!
Revisado: 09-21-20
I love Cornwell, Archer and Woulk! But? Cameron just develops better and uses modern day language to describe history. I’ve listened to every book from above authors mentioned but somehow? Cameron pulls me into the moment of experience.
At first, I think it’s a bit cheesy and Cameron does open his books a bit weak. However? It just always gets better! He gets stronger after chapter 2-3. It’s amazing! I’ve listened to every book he’s written on Audible; no regrets!
I can’t believe his books are so cheap on Audible! Far better then most! I almost feel guilty spending a credit on a $16.95 book.
Well worth it!

Historia
From the day that old Nana Reja found a baby abandoned under a bridge, the life of a small Mexican town forever changed. Disfigured and covered in a blanket of bees, little Simonopio is for some locals the stuff of superstition, a child kissed by the devil. But he is welcomed by landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, who adopt him and care for him. As he grows up, Simonopio becomes a cause for wonder to the Morales family, because when the uncannily gifted child closes his eyes, he can see what no one else can - visions of all that’s yet to come, both beautiful and dangerous.

Historia
The small village of Kilbane is hosting a poker tournament at the local pub, and card sharp Eamon Foley, a tinker out of Dublin, is set to win the tournament. But when Foley is found at the end of a rope, it’s time for the garda to take matters into their own hands. Macdara Flannery would lay odds it’s a simple suicide, but Siobhán suspects foul play, as does Foley’s pregnant widow.

I Missed the ‘back handed’ American Face Slap!
Revisado: 09-20-19
As an Irish American, I can’t help but love this series.
Of course, my family/ancestors faced starvation and/or death in Ireland. Forced to immigrate to the U.S. It was tough to visit Ireland a few years back.
I looked for books to remind me where I came from.
Love this modern day social perspective. I now realize that the Ireland my family left no longer wants us back or to visit. This modern day view of Irish heritage think we are loud and obnoxious Americans. It’s OK.
I still laughed with so many of the Irish sayings and way of life because it naturally related to my family here in the States.
Keep in mind that England/Britain/N. Ireland starved and drove most of our ancestors out. If this author consistently puts down Irish Americans down, I’ll probably go another direction with modern day Irish story telling.
Having said that. This book and series has been so refreshing. I loved it and felt at home.
‘You can take Ireland away from the Irishman but you can’t the pub out of him.’
Typical Irish author to beat down immigrants that left to survive and then now survive from their/American money/love poured back into our country home.
Ireland doesn’t want us Irish back but they want our money.
Grin.... typical...

Good?!? But Not Good Enough
Revisado: 04-08-19
I was a tad disappointed having just finished the epic one on ‘The huntress’.
This book felt a bit flat in comparison. However, I appreciated the ‘Woman Power’ theme. A bit underwhelmed. Nice try though.
I get the suspension with the multiple time line climax. It didn’t really work for me.
Too complex with pregnant lead character and still trying to find the surgery coated Scottish baby daddy. A bit over the top.
Still shed a few sappy tears for epic ending.
Good enough. But? Ya... I won’t listen to another of this authors books.

An Inspiring Picture of Life!
Revisado: 03-21-19
I’ve never heard of Don McCullin.
I was just perusing the books Jonathan Keeble narrated because he’s just that awesome!
The cover picture of this book caught my eye. Something about the old poor looking shmuck caught my eye. There was only one review. Ok.
I read a bit of the critic that is usually given for a brief description. Hhhmm
I threw the dice!
Whow!! What a book! I resonated and connected with the authors journey. I’m not even into photography. My horizons have been expanded by this memoir.
Thank you Mr. McCullin for sharing your story.
