Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Engaging, humorous, thought provoking

I would never have picked a book from this genre on my own. My daughter enjoyed it and I found it thoroughly delightful. Even recommended it to my science-y husband. The narrator is the best!!

Historia
For the past five years, Ryan Richardson has relived that terrible night. The car door ripping open. The crushing blow to the head. The hands yanking him from the vehicle. His girlfriend Ali’s piercing scream as she is taken. With no trace of Ali or the car, a cloud of suspicion hangs over Ryan. But with no proof and a good lawyer, he’s never charged, though that doesn’t matter to the podcasters and internet trolls. Now, Ryan has changed his last name, and entered law school. He's put his past behind him. Until, on a summer trip abroad to Italy, Ryan gets a call from his father.

The storyline was interesting but went on and on. All the lose ends get tied up, but not very convincingly at time.

so great on so many levels
Revisado: 02-19-25
This podcast was so well done, the production, story and plot design. And the end just blows you away.
Separate issue, Bob "confessed" because usually an inmate can't get parole unless they admit their crime. He surely did it, but his confession was rote, a means to his getting out with no remorse or actual details. I hope he never gets out. Rest in peace Gail.

Well done podcast but...
Revisado: 02-16-25
I live in Illinois but didn't remember this case. I think this podcast is technically well done but it is biased and he definitely did it. His version is not believable. He should have stuck to "I don't remember ". Why are they working so hard to try and make him innocent? I feel bad for Kim's family.

Historia
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Gone guy
Revisado: 11-28-24
This story would be much better with some heavy editing to move things along. So much repetition becomes dreary. I had to fast forward at times. People comment the ending is disappointing. It definitely needs some work. It could be excellent, instead it over explains. In the end, you don't like any of the characters and are just glad it's over.

Insipid
Revisado: 07-26-24
The subject had the potential to be a great story. I was a little worried that it would be a gut wrenching read. However, everything about the storyline is predictable. The characters, including the main characters are cartoon dimensional. Her dearest best friend is a rebel because she's black and lets her afro grow longer than army regulations. It's also preachy. I quit in the middle of chapter 14 and deleted the book. I'm sorry I wasted an Audible credit on this book.

Historia
Four years ago, LAPD detective Harry Bosch was on a movie set, asking questions about the murder of a young production assistant, when an armored car arrived with $2 million cash for use in a heist scene. In a life-imitates-art firestorm, a gang of masked men converged on the delivery and robbed the armored car with guns blazing. The crime was never resolved, and the young woman's murder was in the stack of unsolved-case files Bosch carried home the night he left the LAPD.

I've been listening to the Bosch stories in random order. Some are too dark and leave me down. This is one of my favorites, with twists I didn't expect. Great story.

Slow to get going. Set in the early 1900s but has a more modern feel. Some scenes seem improbable so I am curious what the real story is. I'm glad it wasn't longer.
