Historia
The world's old political borders have dissolved. The NAU is civilization's carcass, a nation ruled by two political parties: Enterprise, the sink-or-swim party where each party member has no one else to blame for their starvation or astronomical wealth; and Directorate, whose members have a guaranteed safety net but can never rise above their station.

I need to preface this review with the following statement, I read A LOT of zombie fiction. That being said it is safe for you to assume that I love zombie fiction and am willing to forgive a lot of over used tropes and boring subplots for the sake of a decent zombie yarn.
This book needs no forgiveness.
The Living Dead Boy and the Zombie Hunters is the BEST Young Adult (YA) horror novel I have ever read. Never once in this book did I feel like the story was writing down to the reader. The story is a comprehensive and extremely well paced narrative that provides equal numbers of scares, laughs, and tears. The characters are well constructed and you care about what happens to them. I enjoyed every second and finished it in a single reading. My only complaint is that I want a second book …

"The First Days" is a fantastic book and an amazing beginning to a series. I love the zombie genre but I feel some writers fall into the trap of making their books about the zombies first and the characters second. Not only does Mrs. Frater not fall into this trap she crafts a world of real people who are believably surviving in what should be an unbelievable world.
If you enjoy zombie fiction read this book.
If you enjoy horror read this book.
If you enjoy stories about amazing people surviving horrific circumstances ... READ THIS BOOK!

Where does Among the Living rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the top 5%
What other book might you compare Among the Living to and why?
Night of the Undead, it is also one of the best "Beginning of the Plague" books out there.
Any additional comments?
I have read a lot of Zombie fiction over the years and this one sits near the very type. Among the Living is without a doubt one of the three best zombie stories that chronicle the initial rise of the dead that I have ever read. I can't say which is the best because they are all damn good. The characters are the thing that I love best about the book, both the primary and the secondary players resonate as true.
I have zero compunction recommending this book to any zombie fan.

Historia
People refer to the infected as "zombies" although that's not what they really are. The word zombie implies the infected have died and reanimated. The thing is, those infected with Mad Swine, they didn't die. They're still alive; they even breathe. They're just not human anymore. No one really knows how or why it started. What we do know is that the H1N1 virus - or the damn vaccinations that everyone so anxiously lined up for hours to get - mutated in a bad way.

I have read this book twice and I have come to the conclusion that it is an extremely entertaining read. Yes there are a few flaws but if you let those ruin your experience it's your own fault. As a "Zombie" book it more than lives up to, and in many cases exceeds, my expectations of the genre.
I enjoy that the primary conflict in the novel is NOT the dead/infected but instead the humans of the neighboring communities. I enjoyed the development of the communities and experiencing their fragmentation and the attempt of one to assume dominion over the other.
I will be reading the second one soon!

Historia
It should have been the perfect vacation. A beautiful island without a soul in sight. Blue sea so clear I can see the reef. Palm trees swaying in the wind, and a girl with barely a scrap of clothing on. There is only one problem. She is a zombie and she wants to eat me. That's right. My only companion is a creature with a hunger for human flesh. I should bash in her brains and toss her in the ocean, but I don't have a volleyball to talk to. All I have is this diary and my own Zombie-Wilson.

It broke my heart one step at a time
Revisado: 02-19-13
Would you listen to The Zombie Wilson Diaries again? Why?
Yes, it is compelling and heart breaking.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Zombie Girl, even though she says nothing you get a feeling that her real mind is still trapped inside.
What does Guy Williams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Depth of character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When he saved her from the shark.
Any additional comments?
This book is a serious mash-up of the movie Castaway and a Zombie book. It makes no bones about and actually owns the reality and plays into it brilliantly.
I loved this book.
The narrators descent into madness as he forms a deep emotional bond with his zombie companion is compelling and heartbreaking. I found myself hoping and praying that they would not be sundered from one another like Tom Hanks's character and "Wilson" were in Castaway.
Yes she is dead, yes she eats flesh, yes she has an "odor", and yes all manner of creature takes up residence on her as the weeks roll by. Their relationship is wrong. And he has to fight off other suitors and people that just do not understand.
But it's still a better love story than Twilight.
It is an excellent novel.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry presents a quirky collection of five stories starring a whole cast of the ever-popular undead. Here you will find a semi-sequel to Dead of Night in which four army reservists are assigned to hold a small rural bridge during the early days of the zombie apocalypse; a comedic story involving a couple of idiot moonshiners, a comet, gangsters, zombies, and the Great Chicago Fire; a downbeat psychological drama set in the bleak wastelands a few years after the zombie apocalypse; and more.

The Stand, both are about the survival of the common people after the end of the world and they both do it right.
What does Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She really made me feel like I was there for the ride.
Any additional comments?
I love a good post apocalyptic read and I love a good young adult novel. This book delivered both of those things and more. I always try and go into a book from an author I have never read with an open mind but this book had already been so built up to me ahead of time that that was virtually impossible. I had some trepidation because of this, fearing that the book would not live up to my expectations.
I never should have feared.
Jo Treggiari crafts a world that is rich and full in it's dark intensity. The deep back story of the world in general and the main character in particular are handled masterfully and integrated seamlessly into the overall narrative. But more importantly than how well the tale was crafted the story was engrossing. I loved the characters, especially Sammy, and the conflicts held my interest until the very end.
The love story was tender and resonated with me. It was a perfect tale of first love set in a world that has collapsed. There was a genuine reality to it ... and the first kiss touched me deeply.
If there is any complaint that I have it is that I would have liked a little more information on the world outside the submerged ruins of New York City. Not a change in the narrative just a little more on the tragedies the befell the remainder of humanity.
I will read this again.
