Historia
Lewis Madigan is young, gay, out of work, and getting antsy when he’s roped into providing end-of-life care for his insufferable homophobic neighbor, Chester Wheeler. Lewis doesn’t need the aggravation, just the money. The only requirements: run errands, be on call, and put up with a miserable old churl no one else in Buffalo can bear. After exchanging barbs, bickering, baiting, and pushing buttons, Chester hits Lewis with the big ask. Lewis can’t say no to a dying wish.

Humanity with a little humor
Revisado: 11-29-23
Wonderful, engaging characters, skillfully narrated. The relatable story moved at a good pace, although I was kind of sad when it came to an end.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Engaging characters and story
Revisado: 10-11-23
Unique and well-written story with likable lead characters. The extreme precociousness of Mad was a bit much.

Short and sappy
Revisado: 05-18-23
Not a bad storyline, but the dialog was unrealistically sappy. I usually don’t like short audiobooks, but the brevity of this one was appreciated.

Interesting story; terrible narration.
Revisado: 06-16-21
I gave up after a few minutes. The narrator "uptalks" in almost every phrase. Distracting to the point that I couldn't follow what was being said.

So repetitive!
Revisado: 03-09-21
I rarely give up on a book but I didn’t finish this one. Very little actually happens but details are repeated over and over again.

Interesting storyline but unbelievable
Revisado: 06-23-19
First of all I don’t understand why the author made the students in the story so young. It would make more sense if they were 16 or 17 instead of 13. It’s a unique plot but there are so many parts that are implausible I can’t give it a very high rating.
