This is the most complete collection ever made available! And Timson remains the PERFECT narrator for this style of Dickens. His characterization is sublime and his comprehension of the source material is clearly evident in his charming conveyance that will whisk you away into the Victorian realms of the supernatural. Funny, spooky, touching, delightful, and haunting! Cozy up with a warm mug and the hours will vanish like a ghost in the fog!!!

Graham Greene is (of course) one of the true masters of short fiction, and this seemingly semi-autobiographical novella is one of his best. The ending was perhaps a bit unsatisfactory and anti-climactic(?), as were the outcomes of various events throughout- yet this only lends itself to the subject matter at hand, which I shall not spoil. Kenneth Branagh's narration immediately captures the imagination, and draws you in with such sublime warmth and personality, that I would recommend this steadfastly on that aspect alone. Most importantly, he clearly understands the implied emotion behind each sentence!! (Sometimes even my favorite narrators seem to not "get" the tonality necessary to convey the meanings of the work they are reading.) Filled with memorable quotes; this is an entrancing, charming, warm, comical, heartbreaking, and insightful tale. This is a must listen.

Well read. Understandable and followable narration with a flourish. Yet i feel it could be improved upon by a different narrator. The story however, might be too simple, even for Dickens. A light, and not unenjoyable, quaint little curiosity for the Dickens completist like myself.

Timson's reading is filled with distinct and fitting charcter voices, backed up by an intimate understanding of one of Dickens best and most overlooked books. This is definitely the version to listen to.

Only wish I'd spent my credit on a longer book.

The various character voices are fantastically distinctn Anton lesser seemlessly transforms his voice from character to character in a way that seems effortless. I shouldn't have to tell you that the story is, of course, a treasure and a pleasure - as Dickens always is.
