Historia
Sarah Dean, self-described "accident crime-prone English teacher", and her boyfriend, Dr. Alex McKenzie, are longing for a vacation. No classes, students or conferences for her-no patients, beepers or night calls for Alex. The two-week cruise aboard the Pilgrim, a luxury yacht owned by millionaire evangelist David Mallory, seems the perfect gateway...until one of the passengers turns up murdered...and those left on board are now both suspects and potential victims.

Great story
Revisado: 01-18-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I love these books. The characters are terrific, the stories of this author are entertaining. i have a bone to pick with the narrator. She is quite good with the different voices and inflection. However, she needs to do her homework on pronunciation. It is amazingly irritating to be listening to a gripping story and be interrupted by mispronunciations. She never bothered to learn the proper pronunciation of New England place names or nautical terms. There were even some regular vocabulary words mispronounced. Filene's, Monhegan, Mt. Katahdin, Concord, and more. Very irritating
What aspect of Christina Thurmond’s performance would you have changed?
Do her homework before she reads and find out how to pronounce all the words in the books.

Historia
New York Times best-selling author Laurie R. King has won sweeping critical acclaim and an impressive collection of awards for her writing. Although other writers have tried, no one has matched King's ability to capture the allure of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary sleuth, Sherlock Holmes.

Laurie King has a remarkable talent. Her characters are riveting. Her attention to the details not only of character, but of plot are exceptional. Every Mary Russell book has taught me about issues and events from the past that I had no knowledge of. I love Jenny Sterlin's narration, as well. She is excellent.

Poor Meg Langslow. She's blessed in so many ways. Michael, her boyfriend, is a handsome, delightful heartthrob who adores her. She's a successful blacksmith, known for her artistic wrought-iron creations. But somehow Meg's road to contentment is more rutted and filled with potholes than seems fair.

outstanding book

This was one of the funniest books I've ever read. While I enjoyed the audio version, I was not as happy with the narrator as with the book.

Historia
The legendary annihilation in 1883 of the volcano-island of Krakatoa - the name has since become a byword for a cataclysmic disaster - was followed by an immense tsunami that killed nearly 40,000 people. Beyond the purely physical horrors of an event that has only very recently been properly understood, the eruption changed the world in more ways than could possibly be imagined. Dust swirled round die planet for years, causing temperatures to plummet and sunsets to turn vivid with lurid and unsettling displays of light.

A magnificent book, thoroughly absorbing and beautifully read. Simon Winchester always comes through with fascinating tales of somewhat obscure bits of history, deftly woven into an engrossing narrative. I have never been disappointed by any of his books.
