Historia
Making a living reproducing famous artworks for a popular online retailer and desperate to improve her situation, Claire is lured into a Faustian bargain with Aiden Markel, a powerful gallery owner. She agrees to forge a painting - a Degas masterpiece stolen from the Gardner Museum - in exchange for a one-woman show in his renowned gallery. But when that very same long-missing Degas painting is delivered to Claire's studio, she begins to suspect that it may itself be a forgery. Her desperate search for the truth leads Claire into a labyrinth of deceit where secrets hidden since the late 19th century may be the only evidence that can now save her life.

Historia
Searching for Stars on an Island in Maine is the result of these seemingly contradictory impulses, written as an extended meditation on an island in Maine, where Lightman and his wife spend their summers. Framing the dialogue between religion and science as a contrast between absolutes and relatives, Lightman explores our human quest for truth and meaning and the different methods of religion and science in that quest. Along the way, he draws from sources ranging from St. Augustine's conception of absolute truth to Einstein's relativity.

Very great book!!.
Revisado: 07-19-22
I thought this book would be
mostly about astronomy. It was, however, a collection of essays by the author on astronomy related topics that included cosmology, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, religion, faith and science to name a few. it was very interesting and thought provoking. I liked it so much, I bought the book so I could reread it and think more deeply about some of the ideas and questions he presented.
The narrator did an excellent job. It was a pleasure to listen to it.

incredible story but unsatisfying ending.

I very much enjoyed the three books but the ending was somewhat disappointing. Needs one more book to finish the story properly.

Historia
In 1949, at the height of his career, Rustin McIntosh, the director of pediatrics at Columbia University’s Babies Hospital, submitted his letter of resignation. Dr. Scott Baird, who wrote a biography on Dorothy Andersen, takes us back to this pivotal moment, which occurred at the dawn of pediatric pathology in the United States. Through archival resources, Scott explores the institutional tensions that led to this abrupt resignation. At the eye of the storm is a character we’ve come to know well, perhaps the most important person working in pediatric pathology at the time: Dr. Dorothy ...

Historia
For every Marie Curie or Rosalind Franklin whose story has been told, hundreds of female scientists remain unknown to the public at large. In this series, we illuminate the lives and work of a diverse array of groundbreaking scientists who, because of time, place and gender, have gone largely unrecognized. Each season we focus on a different scientist, putting her narrative into context, explaining not just the science but also the social and historical conditions in which she lived and worked. We also bring these stories to the present, painting a full picture of how her work endures.

If you are interested in science and specifically women in science, you will enjoy this podcast. This first podcast is about Dr. Dorothy Anderson, The Pathologist in the Basement, who identified, diagnosed and developed some early treatments for cystic fibrosis. Never heard of her? Not surprising! Listen to discover who she was and why you haven't heard of her. You will find it well written and enjoyable.

Interesting papers but not meant to be read aloud. The reader was not good. His voice was basically flat, no expression and barely took a break between articles. Buy the book instead.
