Historia
Frank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. Frank is ecstatic, and determined to finally make things right. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate—very secluded, very luxurious, very much out of his league. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire.

Infuriating
Revisado: 01-15-25
I am struggling to finish this. The narrator is fine, does well with different voices, but the main character is absolutely infuriating. Frank is the literal epitome of the "boomer" mentality. Their option is always the one that is right and they can't possibly be bothered to see someone else's point of views. I absolutely adored hidden pictures, so I had such high hopes for this, but so far it's all I can do to keep from screaming out lout about how rude and annoying Frank is. There are no likeable characters at all.

Historia
While visiting his mother at her secluded Waldport cabin, an English teacher is awoken in the night by screams. Something gigantic is heaving itself against the rickety front door, relentlessly pounding and scratching—and shrieking his name. The hideous creature seems to know everything about the man, and takes special interest in his wife's deteriorating health.

Struggled with this one.
Revisado: 05-01-23
I really struggled to finish this one. It started out so good, but with the inclusion of each character after just kind of went downhill from there. Some of the descriptions of the scary creatures were definitely terrifying, but over all the story lacked for me.

Historia
Episode Thirteen takes them to every ghost hunter's holy grail: the Paranormal Research Foundation. This brooding, derelict mansion holds secrets and clues about bizarre experiments that took place there in the 1970s. It's also famously haunted, and the team hopes their scientific techniques and high tech gear will prove it. But as the house begins to reveal itself to them, proof of an afterlife might not be everything Matt dreamed of.

Great story, but a few of the voices grated on me
Revisado: 03-30-23
I loved the story, hated Kevin's character and voice actor. The voice actor for Claire's character was also slightly annoying. Something about her voice was just grating. If it was just her voice I could have dealt. But not only was Kevin's character unbearable, his voice actor was as well.
The premise is amazing, imagining a found footage horror movie with the audio background in this was so flipping good. I wish they would have just had some different voice actors. It would have made it 100 times better.

Great story, great narrative
Revisado: 11-02-22
I loved this story. It was a little repetitive at times, so it did drag a little in places. Some of the fluff could have been cut out, but overall it was a great listen, the narrator brought such life to the characters.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 07-11-22
Honestly I am no prude; I enjoy spicy scenes in books. But this book just seemed gratuitous, violence sex and themes. It seemed like thw author went out of their way to write a really horrible character, and some extremely underdeveloped other characters just to pull a gotcha at the end.
To me this was extremely lazy writing. Like Lohan in the book, I got tired of reading the same sex scenes over and over.

Historia
Travis Wren has an unusual talent for locating missing people. Often hired by families as a last resort, he takes on the case of Maggie St. James—a well-known author of dark, macabre children’s books—and is soon led to a place many believed to be only a legend. Called Pastoral, this reclusive community was founded in the 1970s by like-minded people searching for a simpler way of life. By all accounts, the commune shouldn’t exist anymore and soon after Travis stumbles upon it…he disappears. Just like Maggie St. James.

Sometimes the accents of the narrators was slightly off and sounded weird. Overall it was a good book. I did see a few of the twists coming.

AMAZING
Revisado: 04-08-22
I absolutely loved this book. It was so well written. At times the narration wasn't my favorite, but the characters as written were so relatable and I really fell in love with the Pine family. The last 17 minutes literally made me gasp out loud.
