Historia
Centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones, House Targaryen - the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria - took up residence on Dragonstone. Fire & Blood begins their tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart.

It's a hard *read*
Revisado: 09-23-20
I say this because it lacks the normal and possibly an essential characteristic of most novels. That is a character to get behind and a character you know.
This differs greatly from the SOIAF books by G.R.R. Martin as it reads like a history book. For me, and in my opinion, it is hard to read *history* when it is fantasy (fiction). I tried my best to finish this, but I just really couldn't. I think it is more important for the author to make the characters known than the events. Something that Martin just didn't for me the reader during this book. I can't really recall more than two events from this reading slog.
Anyways there are some great story telling devices in this. If you're looking for something different you may want to give this a shot - it just wasn't for me.

Historia
The young nation of Fatrasta is a turbulent place - a frontier destination for criminals, fortune hunters, brave settlers, and sorcerers seeking relics of the past. Only the iron will of the lady chancellor and her secret police holds the capital city of Landfall together against the unrest of an oppressed population and the machinations of powerful empires.

One of my favorite series ever
Revisado: 03-17-20
Love this series. The narration is top notch. Really happy for the recovery of the narrator. His performances bring so much life to the story, life and intrigue that the author already does so well. Grounded and captivating characters.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Some great stories, poor correlations..
Revisado: 11-11-19
Very long winded, detailed telling of events, but not much sticks. Loved hearing stories of Cuban spies in America and how they got away with it for so long. Loved hearing how computers can make better judgements in criminal cases than their human counterparts. However, I feel the overall message does not stick - if there even is one. I think the title should have read Making Judgements about People.
The main point to make at the end was that Sandra Bland's death was a result of law enforcement malpractices which came into play in a new era of policing. Policeman pull people over for minor infractions to search their vehicle for drugs/weapons in an effort to reduce crime in an area. This practice is poorly executed in America in certain areas nowadays according to Gladwell.
