Historia
Cal McGill is an Edinburgh-based oceanographer, environmentalist and one-of-a-kind investigator. Using his knowledge of the waves - ocean currents, prevailing winds, shipping records - McGill can track where objects came from or where they've gone. It's a skill that can help solve mysteries ranging from disappearances to murder. Two severed feet wash up on two different islands off the coast of Scotland. Forensics shows that the feet belong to the same body.

First in the series
Revisado: 01-06-17
While I didn't find this gripping I did enjoy it. The story line of the child sex trade from India was harsh and made me wondering if it was factual. I liked learning about the ocean moment although the details got a little tedious at times. Liked Cal, the main character and loved David Monteath as always. I have the next two books in the series

Narrator Spoilt the Story
Revisado: 11-15-16
The narrator' s embarrassingly dreadful voices ruined this book for me. Why on earth he felt the need to change his voice for different characters is beyond me. The voices made the characters sound like utter morons. Other things in this book were awful too, no idea why a reader needs a blow by blow description of a pooey nappy being changed or why the narrator changed the pronunciation of the characters name, Erica was Earica, Patrick was another weird one. Don't waste a credit on this boring ridiculous book

Historia
Stalking a poisoner at the local zoo, Inspector John Rebus comes across a paedophile taking pictures of children. When the social workers claim he is there for legitimate educational reasons, Rebus is faced with a dilemma—should he be outed to protect local kids or given a chance to start anew? As the locals begin a hate campaign, Rebus gets a call from the past: the son of a friend has gone missing, and no one else will make time to ask the right questions. And then a fragment of Scotland's criminal history is repatriated at the end of a life sentence for murder.

Didn't grab me
Revisado: 08-30-16
Very long and not very exciting. I really disliked how Carey had it all over the police, especially when he was taken to a supposed kill site and begged to say if he killed the copper's niece. I actually skipped to the next chapter because it was too ridiculous. Have read better

Historia
The third novel in the Palliser series, The Eustace Diamonds is a satirical study of the influence of money and greed on human relationships in Victorian society. The story follows two contrasting women and their courtships. Lizzie Greystock and Lucy Morris are both hampered in their love affairs by their lack of money. Lizzie’s trickery and deceit, however, contrast with Lucy’s constancy.

Revisado: 07-16-15
I completely enjoyed this book. The all important reader was convincing on all characters. Although Eric's accent may not have been accurate. Even tho the culprit may have been a bit obvious it still kept the mystery alive with sub plot. All the aspects were in balance for me.

If you are looking for a crime novel the books in series may not be for you. While I love the writing, the central family and the narrator I find the crime secondary to Serallier Family. It gets a little melodramatic at times. Having second that I do enjoy them and off to purchase my third now
