Historia
A cold night, in the middle of nowhere, in a vast county in New Mexico, a lone patrolwoman comes across a pair of dead cops sitting in their cruiser. And who does she find standing over their corpses? A giant, lone drifter with one stark trait; he is menacing like a nightmare. His name? Jack Widow. To find the real killer, she'll have to partner with Widow. What seems like an ambush and execution might turn out to be something conspiratorial and far more sinister.

I feel like punching the author in the throat.
Revisado: 03-01-24
Why all the detail about stuff that doesn’t matter? I heard at least six times how the windmill makes a swooshing sound. Why repeat the crimes scene and how widow thinks it played out. At least six times. I’ve listeNed to most widow books but this one could have been a short story, should have been a short story. There was way too many words to say things. In done with this author.

Historia
Shocking and controversial when it was first published in 1939, Steinbeck's Pulitzer prize-winning epic The Grapes of Wrath remains his undisputed masterpiece. Set against the background of Dust Bowl Oklahoma and Californian migrant life, it tells of Tom Joad and his family, who, like thousands of others, are forced to travel west in search of the promised land. Their story is one of false hopes, thwarted desires, and broken dreams, yet out of their suffering Steinbeck created a drama that is intensely human, yet majestic in its scale and moral vision.

Revisado: 04-26-22
I always heard if this book. Thought it was a classic. It is probably the worst story I’ve listened too. The ending was bad. I’ll be getting a refund.

This book was about 10 hours too long. Time I’ll never get back. Good story but may have been written for slow people. How many times does he need to repeat what we already know?? Fairly mad right now.

They locate him soon enough, disheveled and stinking of stale booze, but a sobering visit to a medicine man's sweat lodge reveals a much greater mystery.

Worst of the series
Revisado: 09-26-18
I’ve listened to all of the books and this one has disappointed. The story line is fragmented and hard to follow. The blatant dislike of Bush is sickening. Hopefully this is the last book in the series. The old fart author is beginning to worry about his end.

Still laughing..... At how gullible I am.
Revisado: 06-11-16
I read about 30 reviews on this book and couldn't WAIT to download it!!!
I'm am still listening to it right now and have about 1 hour left. I am sure that at some point soon the story will say " if you give this book a 5 star rating and a glowing review, I will immediately credit your account 500 dollars".
I cannot fathom how someone can listen to this complete book without seriously contemplating suicide, let alone re listening to it!!! I feel bad for some of these reviewers life. You guys need to mix in a good " Reacher" book or even a Louis Lamour. For that matter I would have rather spent the time listening to a romance.
I was expecting a book on the history of nearly everything. Like oh I don't know.... How the v-8 engine was built.... Or why chainsaws are generally 2strokes....what makes fireflies glow... Who was the first person to taste cows milk. But nooooo....
The best part of this listen was "audible hopes you've enjoyed this program".
