Charles Dutton did NOT grab Shakespeare to inspire him. He grabbed a BLACK playwright! Stop trying to attribute a Black man's success to a white man.

I am making the decision for the REST of my life to "friend" my troubles (troublefriending)....#learnedanewHartword
I was injured in the military...messed up leg #disabledveteran...not feeling beautiful because of it so I filled that void with accomplishments. I am society's idea of a "success" story because I overcame rough neighborhoods growing up in Chicago and a military injury that almost killed me but FUCK that...I am learning to unlearn certain things and what success looks like to ME is the only thing that matters...I wasn't as happy as I deserve to be but I am making a decision to change that...
Who knew that Kevin Hart was more than a comedian??? Kevin Hart did! #allthatmatters
and I am thankful for that!!!

Historia
Written by a US military veteran, this children's audiobook, based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, will instill in children the answer to bullying, body-shaming, hate, and attacks on the self through daily affirmations. What I Tell Myself First: Children's Real-World Affirmations of Self-Esteem is to listeners what the AED is to a heart: It instills the defibrillator of self-esteem so powerful for when times are tough and your mind is under attack. Mike hones in on his military past and the methodology behind why service members say creeds in various forms.

Amazing book for adults and children!!!
Revisado: 11-13-19
I originally got the book for my young daughter but quickly realized I needed it as well! We all have known some trauma and this book is a valuable tool to be used on the road to complete healing and that does start with what you tell yourself first. This book is a roadmap to becoming self-aware, self-assured, and self-actualized. I am inspired and motivated. I vow to be more selfish so I can me more selfless! (You will understand when you read the book!) I wish this book was available when I was younger but it is never too late to start the heaing process!

The world as it should be...extraordinary! #hope
Revisado: 02-11-19
I am a disabled veteran from Englewood on the Southside of Chicago who attended Whitney Young 20 years after her....for almost 20 hours I have listened to Michelle Obama as if she was right next to me. In my head, we were just to new friends getting to know one another more deeply. I soon realized that our stories paralleled, although our journeys differed....I feel like I know her and at the same time there is so much I don't know. Even though I WANT to know more, I respect the fact that it is not my right to know any more than she graciously gave us in this book and her 8 years of service as FLOTUS...80 degrees and sunny is a powerful and scary reality for us Chicagoans but I remain hopeful and still in love with my city. I feel like we were in our very own "Golden Age" with the Obama's and now it is sadly over. We have now transitioned into the "Dark Ages" with an ever growing plague. As a Black woman in America, I am crying as I type this review. The world needed the Obamas but we did not deserve them...our treatment of them proved that. THIS is the world as it is but I will forever fight for the world as it should be!!!!
