I’ve been a fan of Piper Davenport for some time. The Cauld Ane series is one of my favorites. And I’ve always enjoyed listening to books I’ve already read when I’m at work. I was thrilled to know an audio version was now available. I love the narrator chosen for this read. I enjoyed listening to his Scottish brogue.

Bound by Blood is the start of the Cauld Ane series. Samantha and Kade’s story is a unique one. Everything from when they meet, through the development of their relationship. And begins to set the stage for future books. I hope the narration of this series continues.

Love this is finally on audio

I have long been a fan of Harley Stone’s writing, and the Dead Presidents my favorite series of hers. I loved hearing this book come to life, it’s been a while since I read it. While the narrators were new to me, I did enjoy their work. I sincerely hope Ms Stone is able to put the rest of the series in an audio format.

A new favorite

Ok, I have to admit, I’ve heard people rave about Kristen Ashley’s books, but I had yet to read one. So, I finally decided it was time to change that. I started with Rock Chick. I so fell in love with all the characters and the story. Only one book down, but I think I’m now a Kristen Ashley fan.

Indy and her antics had me rolling with laughter. She is an absolute riot to read, but I have to feel for Lee, cuz those antics would also be an nightmare to deal with in a relationship. But these two are magic together, and positively perfect for each other. My favorite bit has to be the bar fight when Lee was going after a skip. I still laugh thinking about that one.

If you are like me and haven’t tried Ms. Ashley’s books, I suggest you give them a try. And try Rock Chick especially if you like the Stephanie Plum books. Personally, I’m going to immediately going to dive into Rock Chick Rescue now.

I also enjoyed Susannah Jones' narration.

Lots of fun

The Boss Who Stole Christmas -
Cute, fun and sexy Christmas time story. Holly is trying so hard not to be attracted to Nick, her grinchy boss. But things get interesting when Nick forces her on a business trip. Throw in some very unique advent calendars (my favorite) and you get another winning novella from Ms. Aston.

If You Give A Jerk Gingerbread
I’m absolutely loving these novellas for Ms. Aston’s Reindeer Falls series. Little Christmas theme and definitely a little Christmas magic just add to the stories.

Ginger and Keller are both competing in an on-the-air bake-off. Competition is a mix of local and tv celebrity bakers. So I was tickled when Ginger first saw her tv crush. Ginger and Keller make a fabulously fun couple, but the little peek we get into Noel’s novella has me eager to start it.

I think these novellas can be read in any order, but if you plan to read them all, I do recommend reading them in order. Right now, I do think Ginger and Keller are my favorite (but that could be partly because I keep imagining Keller’s accent. YUM).

One Night Stand Before Christmas
Ok, I’ve changed my mind. Out of the Reindeer Falls series, this is now my favorite. The Santa angle, with a slight case of mistaken identity, Teddy and Noel round out this highly entertaining series. I loved how when he walked into the library to return books, Noel looked at him and asked if he was Teddy. Sure, was his response and things just escalate from there. And now I want my very own Teddy. Where can I find one? One of the things I liked best about this was how it gave you a peak of how each couple’s life was turning out. The one thing I like best about Ms Aston’s books, they are alway entertaining.

Audio version
I enjoyed the individual books so much, I had to get the audio book as well. Not disappointed either. Erin Mallon does a decent job narrating all three stories in this box set. Normally she does a good job with the male voices, and she did do a good job here, but I was a bit disappointed with her Keller voice. But that is completely on me (I already had in my head what his voice would be like). Overall Ms. Mallon did a great job bringing the box set to life.

Such a fun, sexy book

Ok, I’m really slacking, I know I’ve read this before years ago, but apparently never wrote a review for it. I had heard how great Aurora Rose Reynolds books were, so on the advice of others, I started with the first Until book, Until November. And I was hooked from the very beginning.

Asher and November will steal your heart. They will have you smiling, laughing, sighing, and even biting your nails. These two are absolutely perfect for each other. He is a bossy alpha, and she’s willing to put up with it, to a degree. These two started my love for the Mayson family, and all the BOOM that goes with these brothers.

So, second time through, loved it as much as the first. On to the next brother, Until Trevor (Wonder if I reviewed it.) Aurora Rose Reynolds will continue to be one of my automatic buy authors, don’t care what it is, I will get it and read it.

Audio review
Sheila Green did a reasonably good job. Granted the entire book is from November’s point of view, so doing both female and male voices can be a bit of a challenge. But I have to admit, I did kind of like her voice for Asher. But many of the other side characters didn’t have as much distinction. All in all, it was a pleasure to hear Until November.

Dorky Fun

Good Girl is the first book I’ve read by Jana Aston and as entertaining as this was, it will not be my last.

Lydia and Rhys are a most unlikely couple. Lydia is fresh out of college and Rhys is over a decade older, but these two are immensely entertaining. You never know quite what will come next. You never quite know what Lydia will say next and where her next thought will lead. Rhys and Lydia are an excellent duo. But now I HAVE to read Good Time and see what the heck is up with Payton (Lydia’s best friend) and Vince.

The narrators do OK, not my favorite, but not my least favorite either. Erin does a good job with Lydia’s dorky-ness and Payton’s quirky-ness, but doesn’t have a huge distinction between her female voices in my opinion. Jason sounds like he is bored, most of the time, narrating his part of the book. But overall, a decent narration from both.

Magical

Loved this story, Nicholas and Olivia's romance is absolutely magical. One of the things I've always loved is the WhisperSync that Audible sometimes has. But it was really frustrating when the narrators would "skip" sections or totally change the words, namely the prince's full name. While Andi did a good job, and I loved listening to Shane's accent, I was a little disappointed in the overall job they did. It wasn't terrible, but could have been truer to the book.

Fantastic!

I've been a fan of Scott Hildreth's writing for some time, I thrilled when he announced the re-release of the audio version of Hard. The new narrators did a much better job. It's always a pleasure to listen to a book that I've read in the past and have it come to live.

Payton is given the task of writing an article on the FFMC. To say that Nick and Payton have an interesting start to their relationship, is a major understatement. But these two are perfect together. Add in Pee Bee and a few others, you have a story you will want to revisit time and again.

Another winner

I love the combination of Nico and Phe. The two have vastly different personalities which which makes for some very entertaining moments. But one thing they have in common is both are incredibly stubborn. Both are bad at jumping to conclusions, Nico especially. Enough that a time or two (or five or six) I wanted to reach in the book and slap them upside the head. But fantastic story despite occasional frustration with the behavior of theses two on my part. Now we just need books for Gio and Josh (separately of course). But seriously, watching Nico and Phe is a rollercoaster you don't want to miss.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are without a doubt my two favorite narrators. Both bring the books they read to life. And I could easily listen to them for unending hours. Phenomenal job!

Good story, ok narration

I like the story for the most part. Some of the college pranks and behaviors really got on my nerves. And I almost stopped listening/reading. Guess I’m too old to REALLY enjoy college age stories. But in the long run, I really liked it the story itself.

The audio left a bit to be desired. Both narrators have great sounding voices and are pleasant to listen to. Muffy Newton did a decent job using different voices for the different charaters. But in my opinion, Josh really didn’t have any distinctive voices for the different characters. For example, Rhett is from Louisiana. Lived there his whole life until transferring to Iowa. He has southern manners and uses southern slang, but almost never had a southern accent. I only hear the occasional hint of a southern “twang”.
