Historia
Elisabeth, an accomplished journalist and new mother, is struggling to adjust to life in a small town after nearly 20 years in New York City. Alone in the house with her infant son all day (and awake with him much of the night), she feels uneasy, adrift. She neglects her work, losing untold hours to her Brooklyn moms' Facebook group, her "influencer" sister's Instagram feed, and text messages with the best friend she never sees anymore. Enter Sam, a senior at the local women's college, whom Elisabeth hires to babysit.

Good story, just got bored waiting on something to actually happen
Revisado: 03-27-25
A lot of character development but the characters are so boring… I can absolutely relate to the MC’a but I don’t want to read a story about my day to day life. Kept waiting on something to happen and then it ended.

To have any chance of reaching safety in Fortress Britain, Master Sergeant Yaël Sion must first escape the collapsing gravity well of Israel as it's devoured from within by merciless jihadi fighters, striking in the chaos of rampaging hordes of infected civilians, all in a global pandemic spiraling out of control.

The constant internal dialogue almost did me In
Revisado: 08-24-24
The story was okay. I finished it, it didn’t inspire me or make want to read any of his other books. What killed me was the internal dialogue of main character. Like, I don’t need you to give me 3 paragraphs justifying the MC’s reason for not wanting to be surrounded by zombies in an inescapable building. Who WOULD? It was like the author was describing why the character felt the way she did and why she did what she did as if his readers were automatons with no emotion or common sense of their own. I also got the impression that the author wasn’t confident writing as a woman so he over explained each decision like someone would be doubting him. Which in my case, at least, happened because of the over compensation. This type of writing muddles each scene, so that although I was feeling the suspense in a certain scene as it unfolded, the tension eased as he gave me 1000 reasons as to why the MC was about to make whatever Move she was making

Four freshmen arrive at college from completely different worlds: Lainey, a California party girl with a flair for drama; Tyson, a brilliant scholar and aspiring lawyer from Washington, D.C.; Summer, an ambitious, recruited athlete from the Midwest; and Hannah, a mild-mannered southerner who is content to quietly round out the circle of big personalities. Soon after arriving on campus, they strike up a conversation in their shared dorm, and the seeds of friendship are planted.

Historia
On Harlow Street, the well-to-do neighborhood couples and their children gather for a catered barbecue as the summer winds down; drinks continue late into the night. Everything is fabulous until the picture-perfect hostess explodes in fury because her son disobeys her. Everyone at the party hears her exquisite veneer crack—loud and clear. Before long, that same young boy falls from his bedside window in the middle of the night. And then, his mother can only sit by her son’s hospital bed, where she refuses to speak to anyone, and his life hangs in the balance.

Blows everything else this year out of the water
Revisado: 06-21-23
Wow. Just wow.
I liked “The Push”, but I was gripped by this book. Saying I loved it wouldn’t be the correct way to describe it. This was a raw and fleshy book that made my bones ache. It was gruesomely honest. Good luck doing anything else after you hear the first 4 minutes, you won’t have another meaningful interaction with anyone for the next several days. You will literally be sucked right in- no pun intended 😀

The singing is pure and painful torture
Revisado: 10-27-22
I love Jodi P, make no mistake. I read her stuff without a second of hesitation. I don’t even read summaries, I just buy them, because I know if she wrote it, it will be rich and wonderful.
This singing though. Holy moly. It’s horrible. I wasn’t able to listen to any of the songs she wanted included in her story.Whoever it is that’s performing the songs, and I’ll admit I don’t think it’s the narrators, they ain’t got not a single business singing NUTTIN😬

Whether romantic or platonic, changing relationships prove tricky for Rose, Tom, Clara, and Craig—never mind adapting to the new not-so-normal. Being surrounded by the undead is bad enough, but with a tyrant-in-training running their Safe Zone, it’s that much worse.

SLF does it again !
Revisado: 09-25-22
Sarah can develop some characters like nobody’s business. I’ve never been more attached to characters in a book. It’s hard to vocalize how much I love everything she has written so far. I listen/ read 2 books a week, and her books are left with no competition. Her series “until the end of the world” is the best. I reread those every time I’m waiting on her new book to release. The cascadia series is wonderful, too. It is just hard to top her first one. Harry Potter doesn’t even touch that one. I would finish her first two series and then follow it with this one. It really helps build this world she is describing.

So many similes ............
Revisado: 01-03-21
I can appreciate a good Simile as much as the next guy, but the main character had one for everything she did, said, observed, thought, etc. I understood the effect the author was going for, but it made it hard to get to know the characters. It was distracting. I think I still would have ended up hating the main character anyway. Her actions were outrageous and unbelievable, too out there, even for a work of fiction. I have about 3 chapters left and decided to quit, it wore me out.

Revisado: 03-06-20
I go through 2-3 audiobooks a month. I’ve only left reviews for those that truly make an impact on me. No review or summary can do it justice, it truly can’t. The characters will become so familiar to you that it will seem like they’re sitting next to you. If you’re on the fence, just do it. You don’t have to be a horror fan, just as long as you’re a good book fan, you will not be displeased.
