Family traumas and resilience

As a lover of Frank Zappa's music (and his clear headed take on society and politics), I thought this would be an insightful look into his family life...it was. However, it was more interesting to me because it was a look into Moon's life and her journey in the shadow of Frank and Gayle...so many sad, but poignant, moments of a girl just trying to find her way through life while surrounding by the bizarre cast of characters in her life.

Classic Sedaris, but in small bites

Since I'm usually listening to books on my commute each day, I really appreciate the short bites of stories and humor (or horror), these diary readings provide. There may not be any grand theme to the stories, but they are interesting in the context of the current events at that time.

It's like having a spreadsheet read to you....slowly

This book was so bad, I had to write a review. Maybe this book should have stayed in print form only. It does not translate well to an audio presentation. Also, I thought the narration was stiff and mechanical, like early text-to-speech software, but was suprised to learn an actual human narrated the book.

I was really hoping for more, but this felt like the superficial skimming of what may become the most impactful sociopolitical doctrine of the century. Now that the election is over, I guess we'll learn more details about Project 2025 the hard way.

Conservative Christianity always wins in court

Thoroughly researched and well articulated account of how the US Supreme Court has purposely sought out ways to elevate conservative Christianity to the preferred religion, protected by law. Unfortunately, in the last 15 years, the court has been wildly successful at breaking down the sepaaration of church and state, at least as it relates to Christianity.

Sad, but true, story

Sometimes, a seemingly simple action/decision has great consequences. In this case, it didn't end well. She sounds like a lovely person with a loving family. My heart goes out to them all.

I was expecting more of an instructional book, but it was more of a historical reading of Agile and its concepts and variations.

interesting but tame

Auto biographies tend to be self serving, but I wasn't expecting so many celebrity names drops. The name drops often did nothing to advance the story...they were just side trails on the journey. Overall, I was expecting a daring, cutting edge portrait from a man who's comedy shown a light on his (and our's) shortcomings. I guess not.
