Great book, distractingly bad "accents" in narration

Another classic by Carl Hiaasen. Sadly the narration is pretty distracting. If you don't know how the accent of a particular country sounds, please just read in a neutral one.

This guy voices basically every accent from South African to Honduran in a way that sounds a lot more like the accent of a Central Asian former Soviet republic. You'd think he'd do a little research on YouTube before making the bold decision to attempt such a rendition, professionally no less. I keep having to remind myself who the characters are since basically anybody not American sounds in this reading like a Californian's idea of somebody from Azerbaijan.

Brilliant account, distractingly butchered pronunciation of US sub names

Please tell this poor narrator how to pronounce such basic American sub (and sub class) names as Gato and Tautog. Some of the most fascinating and thrilling parts of the book were interrupted by the need to cringe every few minutes as this very self assured narrator pronounced Gato (gah-toh) as Gate-oh and Tautog (taw-tog) as Tau (like the greek letter) tog. The name Tautog came up at least a hundred times. If you're a narrator and you don't know a word, please at least Google the correct pronunciation. Thanks!

Fantastically useful and fantastically dense with insights- one of the most insightful and efficiently written books I've read on topic, certainly on the domain of public speaking.

As a professional facilitator, I recognize some interesting observations in Kahane's book and he tells cool stories and anecdotes about how fantastic a facilitator he is, but he goes into very little detail as to how to do any of this. A more suitable title might be "reflections opon my career in facilitation" as 80% of this book is quotes and anecdotes. Alternately, if the author would like to spread this supposedly effective methodology, I'd love it if he'd spend less time on stories and more on the nuanced technique he tangentially refers to. The proper execution of this would be about a 20hr listen, but for those doing this in practice it would be much more helpful. If the author reads these reviews, I ask he please write us a practical guide with more practical examples and fewer circular meanderings.

Stellar insights by an amazing and experienced board member. Cool to be able to hear it narrated directly by the author herself.

More or less functions as an aggregation of the most basic headlines in digital transformation without going deep enough to explain how to apply these trends and concepts at a strategic level. Would recommend a different book considering how many hours this one takes to say some pretty basic stuff

I was expecting a high level introduction to NLP. This book is a tacky sales pitch that is literally a narration recounting a cringy TED talk on NLP. Devoid of useful information, even at a summary level.

This is a thrilling, inspirational book that both procured an action-packed account of what took place dating WWII in the Pacific theater and puts you in the head of a relatively young, but fast-rising leader. Inspiring to military, business leaders and others.

Narration: After listening to about 200 audible titles, this is far and away the best-narrated book I've heard! Perfect tone, brings the action to life, and never a dull moment. I sincerely hope they can take this narration as an example of what to aim for, because so many other titles are ruined by poor narration.

I was hoping for a book that could conclusively show why Design Thinking was more than a buzz word. Instead what I found was common-sense business principles like customer beneficiary repackaged in a new framework. Worse yet, this book waxes lyrical annoy the benefits of DT yet includes basically nothing about its practical or successful application. New frameworks like DT spawn so much buzz that anybody can execute them poorly and most do. What is missing is an authoritative playbook.

Generally decent book and not bad narration, but anyone narrating a Carl Hiaasen book should know how to pronounce the names of the central characters. It took me several dozen references to 'Pedro Laahhs" to realize the character is Pedro Luz, pronounced "loose."
