SO thrilled that audible FINALLY published a Hannah Howell novel. I love her novels, especially the Murrays and their extended family! Can't wait for more to download!

I'm probably spoiled by the inflections that Mr Prebble has provided in the past. Mr Brenher has a voice that was very easy to listen to, and his characters were easily identifiable. It just wasn't what I was used to for a Cynster novel. I found myself tuning out, not keeping up with the changes in the story. I missed the enthusiasm that Mr. Prebble provided in the past. I will buy the next in the series as I enjoy the stories and listen during my housework and yard work. Change Happens, but I'll miss Simon Prebble if he doesn't return. Mr Brehner is a good narrator and made a good attempt at filling Mr Prebble's shoes; I hope to hear him narrate other novels in the future (just not Cynster novels).

In Death Book 33.5 - Not Robb's best, but good

If you're reading the books in order, this one would be 33.5, after New York to Dallas. Susan Erickson, as always, does a wonderful job as narrator. I thoroughly enjoy the Dallas novels and have downloaded all of them. Chaos wasn't the best one ever, but it was worth the price and the time if you enjoy the series.

Vixen or Heroine?

In all, it was a good story and a good end to the Burning Lamp trilogy. I was turned off at first by the new narrator - it's not the same as most of the Jayne Castle books. I got used to the narrator, but I still got mixed signals. Most of the heroines in Jayne Castle/Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick novels are strong women. The narrator in this story turned every female in the story into a sex kitten. Annoying at first, but after I got in to the story it didn't bother me as much. Conclusion - good story, but the sex oozing from the heroine's voice was a distraction. Not in a good way, either.

Worked really great for the first couple of months. Narrator is soothing and I fell asleep within 15-20 minutes of turning it on. Never got to the second part. After a few weeks though, I started anticipating what he'd say next, and was more focused on the words than in doing as I was told. I only use it now when I absolutely cannot get to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Buy the book, not this narration

I enjoy all SL novels, especially the Cynster stories. This story would have been as fabulous as the others if not for the poor narration. It is quite obvious that the narrator is no Simon Prebble. While her voice is very pleasant, Ms. Carr left a lot to be desired with the lack of inflection. The love scenes, the drawing room conversations and even the action parts were read with the same, monotonous voice. The hero and heroine along with the supporting characters all shared the same voice. Unless you listened carefully to each and every word, it was difficult to tell when something of import was happening and when the "filler" parts of the story were taking place.

Listening to this novel was incredibly boring. Not quite painful, but a very tedious listen. Unfortunate, as the story itself is very good.

Don't get me wrong, the story itself is fantastic - Amanda Quick is an excellent author (in all her categories and names). However, the narrator was not very good and the multiple muscial intros were annoying and made listening difficult. Would buy the book just to get the story again rather than listen to it one more time.

Very Good

I've always liked this author, but I've been leery of getting into the Lake/March Series; don't know why. I'm glad I did. Very entertaining-tough to put the iPod away! Narrator was good, keeping the different voices consistent through the story. I look forward to continuing the series. I should have known Ms. Krentz/James/Castle/Quick would deliver. Nicely done!
