Historia
On the day he and Roman Capanelli were to be married, Malik Stevens wakes up in a small room with very little light. Time must be passing, because a door opens from time to time and food is left for him-that's his only connection to the outside world. Roman is a choreographer on Broadway, and he's waiting for Malik at the park with all their friends, ready to start their marriage ceremony. When Malik doesn't show up, Roman is nearly heartbroken thinking he's been left at the altar. But soon he understands that Malik hasn't stood him up, he's been taken.

The Narration was not my favorite
Revisado: 05-16-14
The story caught my interest but I had difficulty listening. The narration was not to my liking. It kind of spoiled the listen.

Historia
Tommy is 29, lives and loves in London, and has a morbid fear of the "C" word (commitment), the "B" word (boyfriend), and the "F" word (forgetting to call his drug dealer before the weekend). But when he begins to feel the urge to become a father, and the pressure from his boyfriend to settle down, Tommy starts to wonder if his chosen lifestyle can ever make him happy. Faced with the choice between maintaining his hedonistic existence or chucking it all in favor of a far more sensitive, fulfilling, and slightly more staid lifestyle, Tommy finds himself in a true quandary.

Couldn't finish it
Revisado: 03-26-14
I was updating my stats on Goodreads and ran across this in my library. I didn't remember it. I loaded it again and shut it down at an hour and eleven minutes. I just couldn't get into it. The narration was erratic but I think it was the writing. I don't understand what people like about it but I regret it was not for me.

A day in the life of New York Twenty-Somethings
Revisado: 05-02-13
I picked this up without realizing that it was the second book in the series. The beginning was very difficult. I do not like to waste time on books with characters that I fail to empathize nor tolerate. The first character story was half the book and had one of those characters. I almost didn't make it though that first story line.
The book has no HEA. It is just a saga of a day in the life of Twenty-Something New York gays. I am still unsure why I bought it. I have no interest in the New York gay clubbing, party, sexing life style of the young, beautiful and stupid. Maybe I was curious. I did get an earful that pretty much confirmed that I am not comfortable with that lifestyle. I guess I have never able to shake my Midwest up bringing.
The novel presents different stories of the same evening intermixed with view points of the various characters. It may have helped to have heard the first novel but I can't tell since this one seemed to stand alone well. I found myself curious about some of the characters but fell for only a couple: Todd and Christian. Now I find myself wanting to know more. Perhaps a little about some of the characters (not the destructive ones); but definitely about Todd. I see the author has a whole suite of this series. I would like to read more of the series to learn more about what happens to Todd trusting that he gets his HAE but that is probably part of the discovery process. I think if learn more about Christian it will only frustrate me more.
I see that the book has received many very high reviews. Since it a departure from my comfort zone I can't say it is one of the best books I have read but I sure learned a lot about New York Twenty-Somethings. Bottom line: I will pursue more of the series if nothing more to satisfy my curiosity. The author sure knew how to whet my appetite.

It just stopped
Revisado: 03-22-13
After listening to the book for about 15 minutes I almost deleted it. The narration would not have been my first choice. I decided to continue and I got sucked in. I guess I was curious how the author was going to twist out a happy ending. The social rift between the two characters was very strong. Rather than find this ending the book just stopped. Perhaps it will show itself later in the series.

Jake Owens, aggressive, physical, blunt and brave, is a football hero turned city cop. Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever, is thoughtful, quiet, and kind, a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and that Jake is the love of his life - and loyal, courageous, straight Jake has never had a clue. But Jake has been nursing his own case of the unrequiteds, and he’s never been as straight as Nate assumes. Nate may think their passionate explosion is a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long, but Jake is bound and determined to prove to him otherwise.

Why Am I crying?
Revisado: 03-13-13
I was constantly crying. A true romance. No real angst, distress or problems at all. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop. Jake makes a perfect lover in this romance. The writing switches from Jake's and Nate's perspective created some redundancy which took me while to get used to. The tears were past secrets to what extent each other would do for each other. I was totally mesmerized by Jake's character. He had everything that I would have ever wanted. I originally gave this four stars yet I couldn't stop thinking about it the next day. I edited this review and gave it five stars. I want to listen to it again.

Historia
What should have been a brief interlude turns into something deeper when Lil Lampert meets Grier Dilorio at the Taste of Chicago. Lil is in town visiting good friends Jody Williams and Clark Stevens, and he didn’t plan to hook up with a younger man and discover a mutual love for architecture, interior design, and a unique sexual kink that keeps Lil coming back for more. By all appearances, Grier is the quintessential bad boy who loves speed, tattoos, and leather, but Lil slowly uncovers another side.

Potentially good story faulters
Revisado: 10-11-12
Unrealistic character manipulation of some strange emotional blackmail with circumstances that were down right laughable. Sex scenes were boring and vapid. I kept listening thinking that the book would turn to the better but failed to keep my interest. In the end I found I was never really was engaged in any of the characters thus I didn't care about what happened.
