Historia
Sixteen-year-old Frankie Budge—aspiring writer, indifferent student, offbeat loner—is determined to make it through yet another summer in Coalfield, Tennessee, when she meets Zeke, a talented artist who has just moved into his grandmother’s house and who is as awkward as Frankie is. Romantic and creative sparks begin to fly, and when the two jointly make an unsigned poster, shot through with an enigmatic phrase, it becomes unforgettable to anyone who sees it. The edge is a shantytown filled with gold seekers. We are fugitives, and the law is skinny with hunger for us.

I think the book has a disappointing ending, mostly because nothing really happens at the end you get no closure from the story

Historia
You may think you know how the fairytale goes: a mermaid comes to shore and weds the prince. But what the fables forget is that mermaids have teeth. And now, her daughters have devoured the kingdom and burned it to ashes. On the run, the mermaid is joined by a mysterious plague doctor with a darkness of their own. Deep in the eerie, snow-crusted forest, the pair stumble upon a village of ageless children who thirst for blood, and the three “saints” who control them. The mermaid and her doctor must embrace the cruelest parts of their true nature if they hope to survive.

Fabulous short story about s dystopian mermaid and her love
Revisado: 05-30-23
I though this book was super well written in a dreamy yet spooky but sophisticated way. I was intrigued and I started to feel for the characters by the end.
I highly recommend if you want a short read.

Wild Ride, Endless Surprises, Creepy but digestible. Really good book!
Revisado: 05-25-23
I think the book was written really well such that there’s a lot of twists and turns, and some of it can be really creepy almost scary, but it doesn’t make you want to stop reading it makes you wanna know more. Really great concept of making a “haunted” family story that goes beyond the family.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who’s looking for something that’s a little bit less conventional in its entertainment.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

This book is a gem. It’s a lovely premise that is gently presented and the author makes you feel like you genuinely know the characters. Lovely story about family and what that looks like.
Absolutely amazing.

Wonderful Book, a nice action story with good characters
Revisado: 01-21-23
Story is almost perfect. Characters are great.
Wish there was a twist, I didn’t expect such an clean happy ending. All in all I enjoyed it immensely and can see the movie deal coming down the pike any day now.
Also the narrator who did Taverner’s voice did a HORRIBLE job with the English accent.

Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
