Historia
As battle cries of the American Revolution echo in the distance, servants flutter about preparing for one of New York society's biggest events: the Schuylers' grand ball. Descended from two of the oldest bloodlines in New York, the Schuylers are proud to be one of their fledgling country's founding families and even prouder still of their three daughters - Angelica, with her razor-sharp wit; Peggy, with her dazzling looks; and Eliza, whose beauty and charm rival those of both her sisters, though she'd rather be aiding the colonists' cause than dressing up for some silly ball.

A Pleasant Surprise
Revisado: 11-16-17
As a Spaniard I am not too familiar with the United States of America's less-known historical figures, but the summary reminded me of Jane Austen's books, so I decided to give it a try. I must say that I liked quite a lot Cassandra Campbell's performance and that the story was a lot of fun. I learnt a lot of history and I even decided to read more about the historical characters. To sum up, this was a very pleasant surprise and I would love to read the sequel as well.

Historia
At 16, Mina's mother is dead, her magician father is vicious, and her silent heart has never beat with love for anyone—has never beat at all, in fact, but she'd always thought that fact normal. She never guessed that her father cut out her heart and replaced it with one of glass. When she moves to Whitespring Castle and sees its king for the first time, Mina forms a plan: win the king's heart with her beauty, become queen, and finally know love. The only catch is that she'll have to become a stepmother.

Lovely
Revisado: 11-16-17
One of the reasons why I decided to listen to this audiobook is that I love Jennifer Ikeda's narration skills, and this time she didn't dissappoint me. The story of Lynet and Mina mixes fairy tales in a masterful way, transporting you to this magical kingdom under a curse. Though the ending was quite obvious, the journey was the important thing and the characters became lovable little by little. I am not a fan of retellings, but this one, I loved it. I highly recommend it.

Poems for everyone
Revisado: 03-10-17
Where does Classic Love Poems rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is among the best, I am not a fun of poetry (only my favourites), but the narrator is great.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Classic Love Poems?
All the poems are great and the narration is excellent.
Which scene was your favorite?
I love the poem "Annabel Lee", by Edgar Allan Poe.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It is possible, as it only lasts 22 minutes, but I prefer to enjoy each poem by itself and think some about it.
Any additional comments?
A good way to approach poetry, in fact non-native English listeners can use it to learn diction and declamation.

Creepy and sexy at the same time
Revisado: 03-10-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would definitely recommend it, it is creepy and sexy, and nothing as I expected.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was surprised by some things, but I think that it was consequent to the whole story and Iiked it. I'd say it's bittersweet.
What does Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think that she is a great narrator, I have listened to other books read by her and she gives a different nuance to each one.
Could you see The Visitant being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I think this story could fit quite well into a movie or TV series. I haven't thought about any star.
Any additional comments?
It is a creepy story with a mystery that keeps you guessing, There are some sexy moments as well, to sum up, a very enjoyable story.

Historia
At the American Academy of Classical Art, popular opinion has it that the school's handsome and mysterious founder, Raphael Sinclair, is a vampire. It is a rumor Rafe does nothing to dispel. Scholarship student Tessa Moss has long dreamed of the chance to study at Rafe's Academy. But she is floundering amidst the ups and downs of a relationship with egotistical art star Lucian Swain. Then, one of Tessa's sketches catches Rafe's attention: a drawing of a young woman in 1930s clothing who is covering the eyes of a child.

Good listening, but a bit too long
Revisado: 03-10-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Color of Light to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version, but both narrators did a great job and it was very entertaining.
What other book might you compare The Color of Light to and why?
There are a lot of books about vampire love stories and a lot of books about the holocaust, but I do not any other book combining both topics.
Which character – as performed by Simon Slater and Jennifer Ikeda – was your favorite?
I loved Simon Slater's performance of Raphael, but I also liked a lot all of Jennifer Ikeda's narration.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I do not want to give any spoilers, but the last three hours of the narration were especially moving.
Any additional comments?
It was a very interesting listen, but in my opinion a bit too long. I knew Jennifer Ikeda from the All Souls trilogy and she was perfect as always, but Simon Slater has been a great discovery and I would love to listen to other books narrated by him.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

A new approach to a classic
Revisado: 07-25-16
What did you love best about Jane Eyre?
I loved the fact that, even though I already knew the story, it became something completely new to me.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the different voices and accents the narrator used. The performance was stunning and I really enjoyed it.
What does Thandie Newton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Thandie Newton is an excellent narrator, I could picture in my head everything she read.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wouldn't mind, the voice of the narrator was quite appalling and I could listen to her for a long time.
Any additional comments?
Even though there are several audio book versions of this story, this one is very well performed, I recommend it for everybody.
