Love it but. . .
Revisado: 04-24-21
I am so happy to have found this podcast. I have only listened to three episodes so far, and love the information and atmosphere of the podcast. My one BIG hangup is the noise effects and the beginning and end of each episode are very overwhelming. The first time I listened I literally screamed out of fright at the end because I thought a gun or something went off. PLEASE change the loud overwhelming sounds to something more sensory friendly, then I would say the podcast is perfect.😊

Enjoyable and Informative
Revisado: 04-12-21
This book was easy to listen to, relatable and informative. It is refreshing to have someone put a positive spin on what are so commonly thought of as disabilities. I like that she acknowledges the difficulties while highlighting the strengths.

Historia
Just in case you’re wondering what Asperger’s Syndrome is, how it is different from autism, or what to do with it, you’re at the right place. This book gives you all the important facts. You will learn about pros and cons (because there can be pros indeed), how to handle social aspects, and signs and symptoms of those who have it. At the end, there will be solutions for those who are trying to manage their behavior, some very effective and some that are only for certain individuals.

Impersonal Infomercial
Revisado: 03-30-21
The idea is there, and I can appreciate that people are trying to be more informed about Aspergers and autism. I really wanted to like this book. However, this book barely brushes the tip of the iceberg of information and paints a very narrow picture of the spectrum. In addition, the book is redundant at times, and contradictory at others. Finally, some of the language and beliefs are outdated and condescending. With the simple stating of information, and lack of compassionate, real life examples, this book comes of more as an infomercial.

Historia
Like many others on the autism spectrum, 20-something stand-up comic Michael McCreary has been told by more than a few well-meaning folks that he doesn’t “look” autistic. But, as he’s quick to point out in this memoir, autism “looks” different for just about everyone with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Should have purchased sooner!
Revisado: 07-28-20
I have been a follower of Debby Reber's podcast at Tilt Parenting for a while, and love all the content there. After absorbing all the content available on her website I needed more, and this was book was just the thing. I only wish I would have purchased this book sooner. As a mother of two Twice Exceptional kiddos (and I suspect being an undiagnosed 2E person myself) this book truly plays on my heartstrings. I feel more connected, more in tune and more confident in my children and myself. My son has been listening to this audio book as well, and he also is loving it for the relatability. It is truly a must read!
