Historia
Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Grisham writes about country life!
Revisado: 02-09-25
I really enjoyed listening to this tale of life in rural Arkansas in 1951-1952. I grew up in New York at that time, with no clue about how people in the South lived. It kept my attention from beginning to end. The voice of Luke, the main character, was comepletely believable, along with the rest of the characters.

Historia
David Rosenfelt's loyal followers of the Andy Carpenter series are familiar with Tara, the Golden Retriever sidekick. Many also got to know Tara from Dogtripping, David's tales about becoming a slightly nutty dog rescuer and the dog that started it all. Here, finally, is a book all about the inspirational canine who taught David everything he knows. Well, he did know how to tie his shoes before he met and came to love Tara, but that's about it.

The love of dogs
Revisado: 12-22-24
I have never met David Rosenfelt, but he is my kind of guy. A few years ago, I read some of the Andy Carpenter series. I loved the books because they all included dogs and because of David’s sense of humor. This book, lessons from Tara, and his book entitled “Dog Tripping”, are both about real life experiences that he and his wife Debi have had with rescuing dogs. I commend them both for their dedication, their persistence, their determination, and their loyalty to each other and to the thousands of dogs that they have rescued. If you are a dog lover, I highly recommend this book.

Historia
For Meg Jennings and her K-9 companion, Hawk, exploring the ruins of a deserted building is an exciting way to sharpen their skills without the life-or-death stakes they face as part of the FBI's Human Scent Evidence Team. But deep in the echoing rooms of an abandoned asylum, Hawk finds the body of an elderly woman. The victim couldn't have made her way into the derelict building on her own. Before 48 hours pass, Meg learns of three more cases of elders found dead in neglected urban structures. There's not enough evidence to link the deaths - yet. But Meg scents a pattern.

Heartwarming and redemptive, Oogy is the story of the people who were determined to rescue this dog against all odds, and of the family who took him home, named him "Oogy" (an affectionate derivative of ugly), and made him one of their own.

The author, Larry Levin did a wonderful job in writing about his relationship with Oogy. I don’t know if I would have the courage to adopt a dog in the condition Oogy was in. The Levin family were greatly rewarded for theirs.

Revisado: 09-07-24
Nick Trout, the author of this book, hit me with a bull’s-eye right in my heart. Never in my life have I listened to a description of our relationship with dogs that is better than this one. he made me laugh. He made me cry. He made me realize a bunch of things that are deep truths about our relationship with our canine friends.
