Historia
Fred Daniels, a Black man, is picked up by the police after a brutal double murder and tortured until he confesses to a crime he did not commit. After signing a confession, he escapes from custody and flees into the city’s sewer system. This is the devastating premise of this scorching novel, a never-before-seen masterpiece by Richard Wright. Written at the height of his creative powers, it would see publication in Wright's lifetime only in drastically condensed and truncated form, and ultimately be included in the posthumous short story collection Eight Men.

Good, but
Revisado: 05-22-23
Don’t make a drinking game out of how many times the narrator says “hitherto”. You’ll be drunk in 30 minutes.
Good book, the separations of chapters not so good, but overall good.

Over a century and a half after its publication, Moby Dick still stands as an indisputable literary classic. It is the story of an eerily compelling madman pursuing an unholy war against a creature as vast and dangerous and unknowable as the sea itself.

Boring
Revisado: 01-12-22
Repetitive, boring. Great narrator. The chapters were strangely put together, it seems the people making the audible version just decided that each chapter should be an hour long, for some reason.

Boring
Revisado: 09-30-19
This book is a class on how to bore you to death. And the monotone narrator was overkill. I think a robotic voice like Siri or Alexa would have sounded more human. I wish I could have all this hours and money back.

Historia
Amazon.com started off delivering books through the mail. But its visionary founder, Jeff Bezos, wasn't content with being a bookseller. He wanted Amazon to become the everything store, offering limitless selection and seductive convenience at disruptively low prices. To do so, he developed a corporate culture of relentless ambition and secrecy that's never been cracked. Until now.

What’s up with the narrators?
Revisado: 08-16-19
I find it confusing that the narrator changes mid-sentence. What’s that about?
And the story, though interesting, goes into too much detail about people roles in the company. Oh, Johnny was marketing 2 years, but then it went to sales. Who cares? Just tell me what he did.
It’s a good overall book and Bezos is an interesting person even if it isn’t a good one.
