Great book , not the best ending.
Revisado: 09-04-24
I really loved this book! I love books that help scripture come to life in the setting of the time and what the culture was like in the time of Jesus. This was a realistic and compelling book, I only have two things I was disappointed with. 1. The narrator of prima, sometimes it was hard to listen to only because she played the evil brat well, it sounded annoying. So maybe more the character than the narrator’s problem. 2. The ending.. for me it was left open leaving me thinking there must be a third book. But, no for me the ending was very disappointing. But definitely worth listening to it was a great book overall!

Loved it! It’s important to know this is historical fiction, we don’t take it as solid scripture. But, a nice story on book of Acts

Hard to listen to at first
Revisado: 10-24-23
At first I wanted to turn it off the first two chapters as I felt the narrator was very difficult to listen to. But like many others by chapter three it becomes less annoying and you get pulled into book and narrator seems to find better rhythm and it’s less nasally sounding. The story is good, perhaps not the happy ending we all want but still a true account of what things were like. I feel for a Christian book it could have a little less description of sexual orientation. But all it’s a very good book!

Historia
After a tornado rips through her town, store owner Abigail comes across a piece of fabric from a wedding dress among the devastation. Abigail is moved to start collecting other swatches of fabric she finds - her neighbor’s kitchen curtains, a man’s necktie, a dog’s bed - which she stashes in shopping bags. As she pursues her seemingly absurd quest, horrible realities spark the question, “What kind of a God would allow such tragedy?”

Really enjoyed it
Revisado: 01-06-23
Yes, it’s a book based on Christian values, it’s also about love, kindness and family. For all those warning it’s a preachy book. She’s a Christian author. I really enjoyed listening, I wish she had a few more books on here. The narrator was one of the best Iv heard and Iv listened to so many books… she’s very easy to listen to. Overall it was uplifting story and worth listening to.

With the war to end all wars exploding across the English Channel, she leaves behind her restrictive life as a chauffer's daughter to serve in an all-female ambulance unit in France. She's not about to let her social status or gender prevent her from serving her country. Not even a handsome captain can distract her from her mission. Most of the time.

Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

With her keen mind and careful planning she turned heartache into success, achieving independence while still young. And she vowed never again to trust a man. Any man. God had other plans. Into the emotional turmoil of her world walked Salmone, a prominent leader of Judah, held in high esteem by all Israel.

Good Book
Revisado: 10-26-21
I liked the book the Narration was good other than the annoying music between chapters. The book for me was good I enjoyed the biblical story line and also the Correlation between the Love that God had for us in the story of Rahab. I think it was a little drawn out… this was my first story I listened to by Tessa Afshar I would recommend, but I still feel like Lynn Austin or Francine Rivers spoils us with the history lesson interwoven in stories, this one left a little to desire on biblical history. Although I did enjoy the details of the wedding in biblical time helps us understand Christ as the BrideGroom. All in all it’s a good book. Not one I would listen to fir a second time, but would recommend! Although I think they need to remove the music it’s very distracting and last to long.

Wonderful story of love and Gods faithfulness
Revisado: 01-26-21
This book was captivating, loved the story between Angel and Michael and the picture it draws of Jesus and His unending love for His children. It’s adventurous, compelling and keeps you wondering what will happen next! Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors. Her way of telling the story so you find yourself relating to the characters and to your relationship with the the Lord is a gift! Beautiful story!!!
