Great to listen about how PFF came to be. Lots of great info about analytics in football. Interesting to learn more about Cris Collinsworth's business savvy. Solid insight about effective business policies in growing companies. I highly recommend this for any NFL fans as well as entrepreneurs.

There are a few decent pointers in the book. There are also several meandering stories that are more like filler than meaningful content.

There are times where the author alienates readers who aren’t middle aged white guys - like when he lists songs at the appropriate bpm for running and repeatedly references groups that many people who aren’t old white dudes don’t listen to.

He bashes people like David Goggins who doesn’t fit in with his view of what distance runners should act like.

I lack the stamina to finish the book. There are plenty better resources to use to improve my stamina on the trails.

A book of mediocre stories with a robotic reader

There are some decent tidbits of information. To learn sales techniques, read better books by Chris Voss & Jordan Belfort. To learn storytelling, take a class at your local college.

The reader sounds like he’s a voice designed by Apple. Emotionless. Slow & overly enunciated. No personality whatsoever.

Scout Speak is a deep dive into the process and lives of NFL scouts. I learned a ton about how they evaluate talent and the politics involved.

The reading performance is not good. The reader lacks understanding of football. Example: when a player is written as “LB Ray Lewis” or “TE Travis Kelce,” instead of saying “linebacker” or “tight end,” he says the letters. When he reads quotes, he sounds robotic even though the speaker’s words are often relaxed and conversational.

Overall, I loved the book for the words as they were written.

I love how real Goggins’ books are. The narrator is real. No fake voice BS. Just a real dude reading a book by his homie.

The podcast interview sections are outstanding. They bring an already vivid book even MORE into life. Great conversations with real emotion and some hilarious gut busting laughter.

There is inspiration for everyone in this book. Literally everyone. There are stories that every single person can relate to. We all face adversity. Goggins shares story after story about how he, his mom and several others overcame various examples of small to extreme adversity.

Goggins is a leader in showing ways to go deeper into our best selves. This book is service to the reader. Get it now and continue your mission with even more purpose. Stay hard.

I made it about 3/4 thru the book. Never was inspired by his bland stories. Ultimately stopped after he advised sales people to ignore “no soliciting” signs. That advice came right after a story where he mentioned arguing with someone who eventually called the cops on him and only regretting the money lost when the complainer told his neighbors to cancel their sales.

To learn how to talk to effectively talk to people, read “Never Split the Difference” by Chris Voss instead. It’s good for sales, negotiations, getting upgraded service and more.

Door-to-Door Millionaire is better left ignored.

Brady reading the first couple chapters was good. However, I did not like the narrator who did most of the book. He lacked charisma & read like a robot.

The book is quite informative on TB’s approach to healthy living. When he describes various exercises, it’s helpful to follow along with the PDF.

The content was quite informative. Great tips on physical & brain exercises as well as nutrition. Yet I kept wondering why he appears in Subway commercials yet consistently advises people not to eat white bread, processed foods and fast foods. As much as he promotes his TB Method & products in the book, his overall message would resonate even more deeply if he didn’t profit from what he advises against.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and learned a lot. There is something in it for anyone who wants to improve their physical quality of life.

I loved Goggins’ book start to finish. Skolnick is a solid reader and Goggins’ stories are riveting. I also liked the interview segments throughout the book between Skolnick and Goggins.

Great humor throughout. Goggins offers examples from his life that are helpful for anyone who wants to improve themselves and expand on their capabilities. A truly special book.

Lots of great info, too many insignificant details

Great job the narrator. Particular faves included the way she changed her cadence when reading words spoken by Rev. Jesse Jackson as well as her tone when she spoke the words of Charlie Munger.

The book is well written with an incredible amount of information about how Warren Buffett and his family have experienced life. At times, there are far too many insignificant details about what random people looked like and trivial comments made by them.

The book is an ultramarathon. It’s worth the effort to finish it.
