Annoying narrator
Revisado: 07-01-20
The stories are so-so. I understand that a lot are meant to be satire or tongue-in-cheek. But ultimately the narration ruins the delivery.
He is so happy and excited to deliver every. single. sentence. Where's the tension? What is the mood? Why is every single character the same excited, nervous personality? One story is about a man at his wife's funeral and the narrator delivers the lines like he's about to burst out laughing. In one story a man talks to an old childhood friend excitedly, then upon finding out he's an important person of high rank... Is implied by the text that suddenly he changes his words and behavior, but the delivery is still excited and happy. There's no point to the story if we don't hear his change in tone. I am so disappointed.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Very inspiring
Revisado: 10-12-19
The sample audio sounds horrible like text-to-speech but surprisingly the actual book sounds very pleasant and easy to listen to.
I like how accessible but also no-nonsense Kondo's approach is. A lot of us hold on to unnecessary things "just because" and need a reminder that we're doing no one a favor, least of all ourselves, by holding on to them.

Revisado: 08-06-19
I got a weird feeling from the introduction but skipped it, thinking the full content was less problematic. It took me halfway into the first chapter to realize my initial impression was correct.
The author invests too much into humans behaving animalistically. He talks about reading into people and using that knowledge to manipulate and control them. He refers to humans as only single stereotypes or characteristics. The whole thing was bothersome because it reminded me of those weird pick up artists' mentalities on alpha males and treating all women as a single hivemind.
The book just creeped me out, I'm glad audible lets you return things.

Really empty
Revisado: 07-11-19
I am really disappointed in this. There was a lot of mythological potential wasted. The author had a chance to explore Ingrid's history, and delve into her powers, her family. There was also so much to explore about the other characters and the setting. There was also a chance to write about the ice cream making process itself.
Instead we waffle around a self-admittedly boring love interest. His defining feature is being slightly nicer than the average man Ingrid has met? I don't understand it. I'm also bothered the author wrote off a dude deciding he knows more about how to grow trees than a several hundred year old wood nymph. What a bizarre plot point. I understand the motivation for love, but congratulations on undermining your main character. What was even the point of making her supernatural.
