Historia
In 2011, three successful and highly educated women fell head over heels for the brilliant and charming Ethan Schuman. Unbeknownst to the others, each exchanged countless messages with Ethan, staying up late into the evenings to deepen their connections with this fascinating man. His detailed excuses about broken webcams and complicated international calling plans seemed believable, as did last minute trip cancellations. After all, why would he lie? Ethan wasn't after money—he never convinced his marks to shell out thousands of dollars for some imagined crisis.

I would have been happier and more interested if I had googled this and read the online articles.

Incredibly repetitive and tedious, in the end
Revisado: 07-25-24
I love this kind of story--the gradual unmasking of a fraud. And I was totally with Anna for awhile. But--really? Minute by minute documentation of e-mails and texts? On and on and on? And she honestly didn't think this guy was stringing her along after about the sixth missed connection and lame excuse? At some point you have to say that your sympathy has been exhausted. This is another one of those books that consists of a l-a-r-g-e amount of padding. I understand that Ms. Akbari has already written extensively about this whole affair and now decided to turn it into a book. Shoulda just stayed with the article, sad to say.

Historia
Who was behind the brutal murder of my great-grandmother? wondered Wayne Hoffman, a New York City-based journalist and novelist. The crime wasn’t just a family legend - it made headlines across Canada in 1913 - but her killer had never been found. In The End of Her, Hoffman meticulously researches this century-old tragedy, while facing another: his mother’s decline from Alzheimer’s.

A long article padded into a book. Repetition, boring stuff about the author's personal life.

Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.
