Historia
Korede is bitter. How could she not be? Her sister, Ayoola, is many things: the favorite child, the beautiful one, possibly sociopathic. And now Ayoola’s third boyfriend in a row is dead. Korede’s practicality is the sisters’ saving grace. She knows the best solutions for cleaning blood, the trunk of her car is big enough for a body, and she keeps Ayoola from posting pictures of her dinner to Instagram when she should be mourning her “missing” boyfriend. Not that she gets any credit. Korede has long been in love with a kind, handsome doctor at the hospital where she works.

Great story; lackluster ending
Revisado: 01-19-20
I loved this story and the narration. But as sometimes happens in “lessons learned” kind of book, this one has an ending that was at best anticlimactic. Nevertheless for the cultural knowledge and narration worth a listen.

Historia
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

Anthony Horowitz is Our New Agatha Christie!
Revisado: 10-22-18
This story is so much better than you can possibly imagine. As far as the "who done it" genre, it's not officially on my list although I do like a great murder mystery. But this book is certainly on my "Top 10 Best Books Ever Read" list. The twists and turns are unimaginable and it keeps you guessing through it's entirety. There is nothing predictable about it! And as a bonus, it is set in the English countryside so you get some really beautiful scenery as well as a smartly told story. It;s a great all around read!

Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery.

Revisado: 08-28-17
Espionage, fashion, mystery, fine wine, tiny tales and a two tolling clock is all in this extraordinary tome and then some. It is on my top five "best books ever read" list alongside Geek Love, Perfume, Ready Player One and The Discovery of Witches. Though, as an avid bookworm, weather listening or holding a book, it is difficult to narrow down between genres and authors, settings and protagonists, The Count is unfathomably entertaining, wry, and clever not to mention, polished and elegant. Amor amazes. For an extra kick, visit the authors website which is extremely diverting.

January LaVoy is Magnificent
Revisado: 10-10-16
This book is a good story. Not a sensational story but a well written, drive forward story. Perhaps, though, I say not sensational because it is not my usual genre. In which case, perhaps it is a sensational story? Really though this review is for accolades to January LaVoy who made this story even better! Her narration is impeccable, listenable and performed as such that you can truly conceptualize the characters! If you like a good story and excellent narration, you will not be sorry you chose Missing You by Harlan Coben.

A Riveting Tale
Revisado: 04-04-15
I'm not one to say, "my favorite book," as I have so many that I love and I have been an avid reader for years. However, I can honestly say that Samantha Shannon is an author with magic running through her soul. She is of the Aether! And so I can also thusly say this is simply the most hypnotic series I have had the pleasure to listen to for years. And indeed, The Bone Season and The Mime Order are currently my favorite series, perhaps ever. Kerr narrates with such quite, stoic passion one would think it's Paige Mahoney herself telling you of her tortures and triumphs. My word, what will I do before the third book is released? If you even slightly like dystopian fantasies, do not miss this series. Samantha Shannon, at only 20 years old, is touched by unstoppable enchantment.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

In this terrifying and hilarious prequel, we witness the genesis of the zombie plague in early 19th-century England. We watch Elizabeth Bennet evolve from a nave young teenager into a savage slayer of the undead. We laugh as she begins her first clumsy training with nunchucks and katana swords and cry when her first blush with romance goes tragically awry.

Sensational!
Revisado: 11-09-12
I love this book! So much so in fact, I've added it to my library (A real library with these things called books, with paper pages and such - revolutionary!). The narration was excellent the story was fast paced and exciting but the most amazing thing is that it still kept the Jane Austen style which only added to the wit, humor and charm of this delightful read. I cheated on book club with this one, in fact. They wanted to read the new JK Rowling book for the October book. I needed something more festive and I'm so glad I went with this. I highly, highly recommend it! If you want to be captivated, love the Zombie theme and like to get a good giggle from a read, this is the one for you!

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Tina, Tina, TINA!!!
Revisado: 04-11-12
I didn't like her because of her spoof on SNL of Sarah Palin. It's not that I love Sarah Palin, it's that Tina Fey is a feminist and Sarah Palin a female; I thought it was audacious and disrespectful. But Tina more than redeemed herself in Bossypants! I love her. She's real and relate-able and sure as sugar she is a feminist. Tina and I are contemporaries and I felt a kinship with her while reading this book. Save for one thing...my Dad (Doc) is better than her dad (Don)! This listen is great! I highly recommend it for the laughs alone but the story is great too!

I do not know how this made the best sellers list. In concept it should've been an amazing tale. Unfortunately it misses the mark and you are left waiting for something to happen. The narration is good enough if not a bit slow. But, how can it not be slow when sluggishness is the tone of the story.

Set against the gorgeous backdrop of Rome, Tom Rachman’s wry, vibrant debut follows the topsy-turvy private lives of the reporters, editors, and executives of an international English-language newspaper as they struggle to keep it - and themselves - afloat. This hilarious and poignant look at the struggles of print news will establish Rachman as one of the 21st century’s most perceptive talents.

The Imperfections Written by an Incredible
Revisado: 10-08-11
I appreciated this book so much that I have bought a copy for my 20 closest friends to read. The story is rich and Tom Rachman, for my money, has a pin point perspective. My only criticism is that through this tome it seems that he/ or his view is misogynistic. However, I don't really care what his psychosis is or isn't about women. This story is amazing. As you read (or listen in this case) you find yourself encased in the world of newsprint and the lifestyle of an expat in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. The story, characters, scenes and psycology are without fault. If you miss this, you'll be the worse for it.
