Time Travel Tribulations
Revisado: 09-27-23
It took a while for the story to gain momentum. But it ultimately grabbed me with the characters and contrasts of a difference 130 years can make. And how much further the world has to go for creating a kinder civilization. Will read more in the series.

Another excellent adventure
Revisado: 07-23-21
Sorry to see the series end. I love Ms. Bourne’s style. Kirsten Potter does an excellent job of managing the character voices the ironic narration. I hope JB is continuing to write. Her books are a major cut above the rest of the genre.

Searching for the real traitor
Revisado: 05-26-21
Another engaging tale in this series. Jess Whitby is brilliant, but vulnerable. Sebastian, a wonderful romance novel hero combo of strength, devotion, and consideration. I love Bourne’s style and will be sorry when I’ve exhausted her tales. Excellent narration.

Love the Series
Revisado: 04-27-21
I’m treating myself to a new story every few weeks. Pax and Cammie’s story kept me as engaged as the others. I especially enjoy Bourne’s interesting turns of phrases and descriptions. She never goes for the cliches. Her loves scenes are filled with passion more than body parts. The pithy family sayings at the beginnings of each chapter were a nice touch. Grand intrigue and adventure. Love it.

A rousing adventure and romance
Revisado: 02-28-21
I saw this on someone’s top romance picks and hunted it down. Really enjoyed it. Not your usual Regency with the society blah, blah, blah. There was some actual history here and worthy adversaries with the h/h. Kristen Potter did an excellent narration, giving light accents where needed. Planning on following up with more from Joanna Bourne.

Not your usual regency
Revisado: 11-12-20
Enjoyed this wrap up to the series very much. I liked the growth of so many characters throughout the series, especially Lord and Lady Fairchild. All the characters have human foibles to overcome. Didn’t miss steamy sex scenes usually so repetitive in the genre. Clever dialogue and engaging plot. Laura and Jasper are a fun couple. Will look for more from this author and narrator.

Doing the SEP Happy Dance
Revisado: 06-13-20
Classic SEP material with the force-the-couple-into-the-same-house structure. Good character development, snappy dialogue, and engaging small town characters. SEP takes on women’s health issues and empowerment through her midwife leading lady. All in all, a feel good, satisfying story. Nicole Poole brings it all to life very well.

She has no interest in the rude, badly behaved man she married only to secure her inheritance. She certainly has no interest in his ban on her going to London. Why, he’ll never even know she is there. Until he shows up in London too, and Cassandra finds herself sharing a house with the most infuriating man in England. Joshua DeWitt has his life exactly how he wants it. He has no need of a wife disrupting everything.

An engaging take on a familiar theme
Revisado: 05-27-20
I enjoy the elegant writing style of Mimi Matthews. She writes engaging characters with strong motivations. The romance elements are strong without being crass. Justine Eyre delivers both male and female characters with strength and grace. This novella with the Beauty and the Beast theme is enjoyable.
