The reader read like she was being fed the words three at a time. She often put a bizarrely wrong emphasis on words. I lit the audible book aside for months and only finished it because I was through with a good book and it was just sitting there to be finished.

The readers lack of flow often served to point out how poorly written the book is.

All I could think was "who is this reader related to that got them the job.

I have liked Slaughter's books in the past but not this one. Mostly due to poor performance.

At first I found this a little slow, but was still enjoying it. Note that I like things a little darker, like Gillian Flynn. Then it picked up. I liked that I really was fooled. I suspected...but did I really? Great job. Would look for more from this author.

What did you love best about Noah's Compass?

Anne Tyler glimpses into little lives and exposes the complications, little joys, the beauty and the warts. Noah's Compass may not go where you want it to, but the journey of her prose is amazing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eunice. She was such a surprise in the end.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Arthur Morey?

I don't recall the narrator. Not because he was bad, I've just been listening to lots of Anne Tyler books. All narrators were very good to excellent, except one was awful, but it was a woman.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes.

Would you consider the audio edition of 11-22-63 to be better than the print version?

I would assume great either way. But I love when it's performed.

What did you like best about this story?

I would have said I don't like time travel stories, but I loved when he went back in time. I loved thinking about all the details the main character had to pay attention to to fit in "back then."

What does Craig Wasson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great performance!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

If you could save JFK would you...should you?

Any additional comments?

I LOVED this book!

Where does Under the Dome rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's one of those books you can't wait to listen to--like a print book you can't put down. Scale of 1-10--8.5.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Under the Dome?

When the dome first appears. You don't think of all the consequences. King does.

Which character – as performed by Raul Esparza – was your favorite?

The sherrif.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but made me think a lot.

Any additional comments?

I love King's writing. He can be so descriptive, and let's me truly see things through a character's eyes.

The Scarpetta Factor Audiolibro Por Patricia Cornwell arte de portada

When did Scarpetta get so boring?

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one. Go back to her earlier books.

What was most disappointing about Patricia Cornwell’s story?

I was never "thrilled" and certainly never scared. The "star" of the story seems to be a cell phone's technology. Maybe it was intriguing when this came out, but this was BORING. I used to love Scarpetta novels, granted she, for me, was the original CSI type story. But I swear they used to be more interesting.

Which scene was your favorite?

none

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

total frustration that I felt compelled to listen to the whole story because I bought it.

Any additional comments?

I bought Patricia Cornwell's latest, the bone bed or something. Her last two books have been so bad, I think I may use the return option, since I haven't started it.

What did you like best about House Rules? What did you like least?

This is really well written as far as the descriptions and dialogue go. But I saw the end coming a mile away, and it took FOREVER to get there. Kind of unbelievable no one ever asked the right question.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The view into asperger's syndrome. Didn't care about the romance.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

if I hadn't read the book, the storyline would have intrigued me. But knowing the ending, no.
