Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

What happened to the main characters?
Revisado: 03-21-25
One thing I really liked about Sanderson’s books is how many characters he made that were believable and that were relatable. I spent four books enjoying the build up of so many main characters and understanding the role of the secondary characters. I don’t understand why this book had to put multiple main characters on the back burner and spend most of its time on the lesser characters.
All I can say is that I expected a bigger focus on the characters that have been built up over four books and was disappointed that the main thrust of this book was secondary characters.

As a teacher, I use this for a novel study.

This audio book is excellent all the way around. I use it when I take my class through a "Hunger Games" novel study. The quality is top notch and I most certainly recommend it to anyone looking for an audio version of the book.

In this provocative and thoughtful book, Gerald McDermott explores the theological concept of revelation and how evangelicals have responded to world religions. He then makes a case for God's having revealed himself outside of Israel and the church.

Maybe Christianity isn't the only truth!!
Revisado: 03-17-23
I had to read this book and write a report for a World Religions course for my Masters of Theological Studies. So the author starts by going over general revelation and special revelation. Then, the author posits that maybe all the heads of false religions have received SOME special revelation from God somewhere down the line. The book completely ignores 2 Timothy 3:15-17 which says, "15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
The book goes even further than ignoring the sufficiency of Scripture. Basically, the book practically asks What if Scripture isn't enough? This book goes out of it's way to find spiritual "TRUTH" in false religions. Completely useless (and even a distraction) to a born-again believer.

Historia
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

So many characters, hard to keep them all straight.
Revisado: 09-12-21
There are so many characters and threads to the story that even if the author gives them each a chapter or two then the book is still very long. You feel like not much is accomplished by the end.
