Historia
Tried all the medical advice but still hurting from reflux? You're not alone. I was there for 15 years, trusting advice that just didn't help. Medications faded in effect, and the fear of long-term side effects grew. Thankfully, a tip from a friend changed everything for me. In the same way, I hope that the tips in my free digestion challenge—digestionchallenge.com—are what you needed to confirm that you're ready for my three-step plan.

Historia
Edward Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire painted a portrait of the Roman Empire in a long, debilitating slide to oblivion, but now historians have reevaluated this picture to create a radically different understanding of the period now known as "late antiquity." Far from being a period of decline and fall, late antiquity marked one of history's great turning points.

Great!
Revisado: 09-17-22
As a 'modern people' we forget where we came from. We assume that after the fall of Rome that we entered a dark and dreary era. Professor Noble has spent his life researching the past, and is able to relate all that he has learned in an easily understood manner.
The peoples of the past were not unlike ourselves. Yes. they did not have our conveniences, but they lived, worked, loved and worshipped as we do.

Fun!
Revisado: 10-02-21
What a ride! Narration is perfect, and the story is laugh out loud. Alexander C. Kade has developed an alternative reality that is fun, and relatable. The characters are numerous, with their own quirks that make them believable. Cannot wait to start the next book in the series!

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Great!
Revisado: 05-30-21
This book was the beginning of what could be a fun adventure! The narration was excellent! Just when I really needed an out of ordinary book, I discovered this little gem. I am certain there will be people who find this story slow, or unexciting, but I loved the characters, the plot and the pixies. The main character, Roger, has his demons, but they have shaped his character rather than having him whine over his past. Early on in the book, you discover the nasty of the piece, giving you the hint of what is to come. Was this book a bit predictable, maybe in a few spots, but it was still a joy to sit back and listen.

Historia
Among Americans, diabetes is more prevalent today than ever. Obesity is at epidemic proportions; nearly 10% of children are thought to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. And sugar is at the root of these, and other, critical, society-wide, health-related problems. With his signature command of both science and straight talk, Gary Taubes delves into Americans' history with sugar: its uses as a preservative, as an additive in cigarettes, the contemporary overuse of high-fructose corn syrup.

Informative
Revisado: 07-15-20
Although lengthy, Dr. Greger imparts everything you want to know (and some you don't) in an easier to understand language.
Many people do not like the author's narration, but I find I don't mind it. There are many PROFESSIONAL narrators that are far worse.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

This book took me through multiple cases, some of which were gross miscarriages of justice. While most were solved, it reminds the listener that the system is flawed, and through diligence can be repaired. The narration was great!
