I really liked this book. Wish it was longer and more detailed but the story and plot are compelling and keep you turning the page.

Strong start, fizzled and cooled

What a fantastic start! WOW, I was really looking forward to this story. STRONG, enthusiastic and action packed…..Then right smack in the middle (by now you’re invested) it started to wane and the story felt disjointed. The book feels like two different people wrote it. All the character development goes out the window and we are to believe the main character is good at his job yet the only examples of his work is him sucking at it. Oh how I wanted to love this book.
So much promise. Maybe the next one will be better, but I’m going to pass for now.

Needs a SEX CONTENT Warning

Where to start. I was Looking for a fantasy series.
From the cover Info and description this book did sound promising, and has beautiful cover art. I will add the voice actor did a great job. IT WAS HER READING sample that sold me on this book.
The story starts off strong, albeit confusing with constant name changing and jumping from past to present. Half the time the reader has no idea who this new subplot is about, Then a swingers ball happens without warning and the story goes in 5 different directions leaving the reader wondering what or more importantly why is this even in the BOOK as it has no relevance to the story. The characters start off with backstories and great dynamics then by the end you don’t really care what happens to them, because after all how many split personalities can someone have before it’s too many to follow who is who and what timeline are we in. The ending is just as disjointed, but does jigsaw the pieces sort of back together. I feel like this book was a rough draft that got pushed out before anyone read it throughly.
I did have such high hopes and until the middle of this book was looking forward to the next one, then the story splintered into a million pieces with veiled explanations of what/who these new characters are and I don’t have the time or want to, to pick at them all.
